end of July teased, presented yesterday! Gordon Murray Automotive presented the T.50 with Cosworth GMA-V12 in the rear! And it attracted a lot of attention within a few hours, especially on the Internet. After all, it was designed by the legend Gordon Murray. The T.50 is built in such a way that it is supposed to be the purest, lightest and most driver-centered super sports car ever. And it's supposed to take on the spiritual legacy of the McLaren F1 from the early 1990s. Quote: "Professor Gordon Murray CBE improves his acclaimed McLaren F1 in every possible way". And with a price of 2,36 million pounds (before taxes), the equivalent of around 2,6 million euros, it is already a record.

12.100 revolutions per minute

The power comes from the free-aspirating 4,0-liter V12 engine (3.994 cubic meters) with an impressive 663 hp, which rotates an insane 12.100 revolutions per minute (!). And even up to 700 hp should be possible via boost. There is also 467 Newton meters of torque at 9.000 (!) Revolutions, of which 71% are already available from 2.500 tours. The engine weighs only 178 kilograms and is connected to a 48-volt starter generator. Incidentally, the T.50 is shifted using a six-speed transmission from Xtrac. And Murray states that the T.50's aerodynamics are the most advanced and effective that has ever been used on a street car. And the most noticeable detail is probably the 400 mm fan at the rear. It is very reminiscent of the Brabham BT46B from 1978, which was affectionately known as the "vacuum cleaner". The propeller at the stern pressed the BT46B harder to the ground. Other features of the exterior design of the T.50 are few air openings and particularly "clean" fenders and aprons.

only a minimum height of 1,16 meters

Nothing disturbs the harmonious lines. At least, as long as you don't open the two dihedral doors upwards and at the same time in front. Looks and it is spacey! The dimensions of the T.50 are 4,36 meters in length, 1,85 meters in width and only 1,16 meters in height. The wheelbase is exactly 2,70 meters long. The cabin of the T.50 is somewhat reminiscent of the McLaren F1. Because the driver-centered approach can be clearly seen. There is also a central, jet-like positioned driver's seat and primary and secondary controls in aerospace quality, which are arranged like an "ergonomic bubble" directly around the driver. By the way, each T.50 can be personalized inside and out by the customer. The process also includes a session to “adjust” the seat, steering wheel and pedals. The T.50 should be ergonomically designed for the driver.

Interior with Direct path induction sound system

As far as we know, the T.50 will be limited to 100 vehicles and every touch of the titanium accelerator pedal is intended to showcase the V12, which manages 12.100 revolutions per minute, in an incomparable way. The Cosworth GMA is touted by Murray as the fastest, most responsive, most powerful and lightest roadworthy V12 in the world. What an announcement! The vehicle even has the so-called "Direct Path Induction Sound" system, which was already installed in the McLaren F1 and has been refined for the T.50. It is supposed to channel the sound of the T.50. There is a cold air intake manifold above the driver's head, and the high-quality carbon fiber panels in the roof are something like loudspeakers that transmit and amplify the engine sound. The system is actuated via the throttle valve angle and becomes louder with increasing throttle valve opening. Incidentally, the T.50 weighs only 986 kilograms, making it the lightest super sports car of modern times. And yet there is a practical 288 liter trunk volume.

"Fan Interactive Aero System" (FIAS)

ESP and traction control can be completely deactivated and technologies such as the six aero modes made possible by active and interactive fan-assisted aerodynamic components optimize the driving experience. According to Murray, the 400 mm fan ensures a strong “ground effect” and, in cooperation with the active rear spoilers and the interactive diffusers, it is intended to increase downforce by 50 percent. And in braking mode it is even 100 percent. As a positive side effect, in connection with the ram air intake, around 50 HP are added to the vehicle output and the braking distance from 150 mph (240 km / h) is reduced by almost 10 meters. The system, known as the “Fan Interactive Aero System” (FIAS), rotates at up to 7.000 revolutions per minute. Crazy!
