Determine the buttolist price - the procedure at a glance

[Display]

It is interesting for many people to find out whether there is a monetary benefit in using the company car privately. If they belong to these people, they should know the gross list price. This is exactly what this post is about, i.e. how you can determine this price.

What is the gross list price?

The gross list price is the gross value of the respective vehicle. The point at which the vehicle was first registered is important here. When calculating the gross value, all costs are included, which can arise, for example, from special equipment or sales tax. In simple terms, it calculates all costs that were incurred when buying the car. This is the value of the vehicle, which must then be calculated. But how do you know how to calculate the gross list price? Of course, different websites on the Internet can be helpful, because the gross list price of certain vehicles is displayed directly on them. Unfortunately, this is often not a good thing if your own vehicle is not there. Often it is also because not every model is considered here. Because exactly here the price can differ within a vehicle and model. This is also due to the fact that two vehicles of the same model can differ significantly due to their equipment.

For this reason, absolutely different gross list prices can appear for one and the same model. Therefore, nobody should rely on such prices from the Internet, with one exception. Should it be official information from the ADAC. If you want to go the safe way, you should ask the respective car dealer for the gross list price. The authorized dealers from German manufacturers such as BMW, Audi, VW and Mercedes issue a written confirmation of the price.

Such confirmation can even be helpful for the tax audit and the tax office. In any case, it always makes sense if someone can present such a written confirmation. If for some reason you cannot contact the car manufacturer directly, this is of course not a problem. Because of course there are other options you can rely on. In this way, the gross list price can be taken from data sheets that are available online. It is important that the data sheets are really published directly by the manufacturer.

Large manufacturers such as Mercedes, VW, BMW and Audi often make these data sheets available online. Unfortunately, smaller manufacturers tend to publish the data sheets less or not at all. But if the sheet is available, it is possible to use it directly at the tax office or tax advice. However, only if it is an original.

Dare not bought from the manufacturer?

If it is not a new car, i.e. a vehicle that was bought from a private individual, it can be very difficult to find out or determine the gross list price. The difficulties often arise when the actual car dealer is not located nearby or the original data sheets from the manufacturer cannot be found online. In such cases, it will then be necessary to access external websites on the Internet. It is essential to make sure that the information on the prices that are to be taken is reliable. This works for well-known websites of autoscout24 and the ADAC for sure.
