Australia: the arrival of the Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO (C 190)

[Display]

A great vehicle from the Mercedes-AMG range geared towards the racetrack will soon be available to the Australians. A limited number of the only 750 Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO (C 190) vehicles will soon be available in the AMG Performance Centers in Australia. From the total global production of 750 vehicles, however, there will only be 15 copies. Every Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO has weight-optimized and performance-enhancing functions from the acclaimed Mercedes AMG GT R Coupé.

By adding a range of motorsport-inspired features, the potent specimen becomes the ultimate go-to option in the Mercedes AMG lineup on track day. Nevertheless, it is still a car that can be driven on normal roads. Combining high-end performance with the daily driver option for use on the road is of course anything but cheap. To be more precise, this car will make the future owner poorer by almost half a million Australian dollars. And that doesn't include delivery or other costs. You may need to hit the lottery or be successful at online betting to own the car.

Package with racing inspiration

A modified AMG coilover suspension offers the GT R improved adjustability so that the PRO can be perfectly adjusted to a wide variety of routes. Just like in motorsport, the driver can mechanically adjust the preload length of the spring, but the pressure level and the compression of the dampers can also be adjusted. This is effortlessly possible with a click system and completely without tools.

Notable features are:

  • Fully digital instrument display in series with telematics architecture
  • Innovative display buttons in the center console
  • Data logger for use on the racetrack
  • AMG DYNAMICS makes it even more agile
  • Carbon parts and new forged wheels
  • new front apron with additional flics
  • Carbon package, new carbon roof, foiling

Unbeatable design meets lightweight:

The comprehensive inclusion of lightweight components made of carbon fiber in the vehicle is further improved by extremely light ceramic composite brakes and bucket seats made of transparent carbon fiber coating. A carbon package sits on the AMG GT R Pro in the form of a front splitter, new trims, carbon diffuser and gills in the fenders. Not to mention that the carbon roof still offers enough helmet freedom when it comes to the racetrack.

And a lot of carbon can also be found in the door panels, the rear area, the rear-view mirrors, the center console and on the door sills.

significantly improved aerodynamics

When developing the vehicle concept, many other important fine-tuning was made compared to the “civilian versions” of the AMG GT, especially with regard to aerodynamic performance. The front apron, for example, was redesigned so that it contains two flics made of carbon fiber on each side. In addition, the recessed air openings effectively vent the wheel arches and at the same time reduce the unwanted lifting of the front axle. In the rear area, carbon elements protrude upwards on the right and left of the apron and extend almost to the level of the rear lights.

From 0 to 100 in just 3,6 seconds!

Finally, we also have a few numbers for you. The Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro with V8 biturbo and a displacement of 3982 cc develops 430 kW (585 hp) and a maximum of 700 NM torque. Equipped in this way, it reaches a top speed of 318 km / h and accelerates to 3,6 km / h in just 100 seconds.
