The Engine Songs V8: Spotify playlist celebrating the Urus Performante!

Deep. And rhythmic. This is the sound of the Lamborghini V8 engine, as described by Alex Trecarichi and Mauro Mautone. The internationally renowned music producer and Lamborghini's NHV overall vehicle coordinator provided the third The Engine Songscompilation inspired by the sonorous pounding of the V8 in the Urus Performante. "The deep sound of the drums: this is the instrument that more than any other represents the combustion process of the V8 and emphasizes the movement of the pistons in the cylinders", explains Mautone, who, together with Trecarichi, appears in the third episode of the video interview series The Engine Songs: Let's talk V8 has a say.

The Engine Songs V8

First, two Spotify playlists were released that harmonize with the V12 and V10 engines of the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae and the Huracán Tecnica. Now the musical tribute to Lamborghini combustion engines continues with a new chapter for the V8 engine. This time it is inspired by sounds that can emerge even at the lowest revs. The Urus already produces explosive torque from 2000 rpm with timpani and bass drum sounds that constantly increase with increasing speed.

“As always, to create the playlist, I started by analyzing the fundamental frequency of the motor”, explains Trecarichi, of the trilogy The Engine Songs created together with Lamborghini's sound engineers. "In the case of the Urus, the parameter was 50 hertz, which corresponds to the fundamental vibrations of the drum kit. Therefore, an important part of the playlist had to be represented by rhythm.” This time, the formulas of the Fourier transformation were used again. With the help of artificial intelligence, the three distinctive phases of the Urus eight-cylinder engine (idle, cruising and top speed) once again found their corresponding sound in a total of 24 titles.

Listening to them while accelerating, downshifting, cornering and braking reinforces the driver's feelings of connection and validation. These feelings are explored down to the smallest detail in the development of Lamborghini engines. At idle, the Urus Performante's motor sings in C, the same tonality as the piece's electro-salsa A guitar perdido by Gabriel Dominguez. At 4000 rpm, the vibrations correspond to the G and unleash the soul of boogie fever. At 7000 rpm, the syncopated D flat of White Lies and its title can be heard Is My Love Enough?

a marriage of motor and music

It is a marriage of engine and music, which is once again interpreted according to the principles of psychoacoustics. Science bridges the gap between suggestive emotion and sound physics to transform the behind-the-wheel experience into emotion and fantasy. “When you drive the Urus Performante and at the same time The Engine Songs one hears, one really gets the urge to travel north without a specific destination", says Trecarichi while letting his imagination roam. "I, on the other hand, imagined a rally course deep in the heart of the United States, having fun at the wheel with my best friends", concludes Toll.

The new Performante version of the Urus has become a benchmark in its market segment by setting a production SUV record on the Pikes Peak route in Colorado. With a time of 10:32,064, she beat the previous record holder's time by 17 seconds. The Performante made its dynamic debut on October 20th at the Vallelunga Circuit in Rome. With its power increased to 666 hp and a reduced overall weight, it offers the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. It develops a torque of 850 Nm at just 2300 rpm, accelerates from 3,3 to 0 km/h in 100 seconds and reaches a top speed of 306 km/h. Photo credit: Lamborghini
