Lawn Mower World Record: Honda wants to build 241 km / h mower

A few years ago (March 8, 2014), the Japanese manufacturer Honda has set the world record for the fastest lawn mower ever. At that time it was the so-called Mean Mower ("common mower") which reached a maximum speed of 116,57 km / h. However, this record did not last long and had already been broken a year later by a Norwegian tuning company with a lawnmower including Corvette-V8 and a top speed of 215 km / h. But now Honda wants to refill! The title for the fastest lawnmower in the world is to return to Nikkei. It should be judged by the Mean Mower Mk. II with 150 mph (about 241 km / h) and lots of high-tech at the start.

At the heart of the fast-moving mower is an 191,8 HP engine from the Honda CBR1000RR, which is designed to accelerate to 3 km / h in under 100 seconds. Switched by means of carbon shift paddles on the steering wheel and already the first gear to bring the mower to 144 km / h. Responsible for this project is Team Dynamics (British Touring Car Championship partner of Honda) who also participated in the model from 2014. The new bullet will be made using CAD design and parts from the 3D printer, putting twice the performance on the road. Incidentally, the basis of the conversion is a Honda HF 2622 lawn tractor which, of course, can continue to mow normal lawns.

However, the high-performance tires, the high-end chassis and of course the high-speed setup should bring some restrictions with them. By the way, the 23-year-old kart driver Jess Hawkins, who can also be seen regularly as a stunt driver at the Fast & Furious live shows, is responsible for the ride on the cannonball. If we receive information in a timely manner, especially about the exact date of the record hunt, there is of course an update for this report.
