Roaring too loud - Dodge Challenger Hellcat shut down!

And once again the special commission “Soko Autoposer” from Hamburg is making a name for itself. The officers looked at a particularly loud 717 hp Dodge challenger hellcat which was apparently brand new with 900 km on the clock. But the € 80.000 bullet had an unusually loud sound. It goes without saying that the 6,2 l compressor does not have the soundscape of a VW Polo, but the extremely conspicuous soundscape could not have anything to do with a production vehicle. The solution was a bypass system that could be operated by means of a switch in the footwell and ensures that the exhaust gases exit the middle silencer. It goes without saying that the sound is of course much more violent than the series, especially in view of the built-in engine. Our short video shows how it works!

So the vehicle was confiscated in order to secure the evidence for future proceedings. Another case related to a 306 hp BMW 335i whose flap-controlled exhaust system could also be regulated by means of a vacuum system. Here the 23-year-old driver tried to quickly remove the vacuum hose, which did not work. The BMW roared a whopping 97,4 dB which is of course quite violent compared to the 81 dB allowed for this vehicle. Here, too, there is an administrative offense procedure and this vehicle was also seized. The hero of the day but was an 41-year of the police police car honked and then measured in the village with 102 km / h. After the driver had given his brother's personal details, it turned out he was not even in possession of a driver's license. A criminal case follows!

  1. Is there a way to find out what was actually installed or modified? My Hellcat also came to me from AEC, just as it was modified. However, that was not an option, but is handled according to the AEC as the official German subsidiary of Dodge because the standard system is too loud ?!

Otherwise, I have to contact my dealer, if I am converting myself I have to live with it but not if it was done from home and was officially registered at the first registration?
