Abarth 595 named “Best Car” for the sixth time in a row

Italian sports car wins again the import valuation of the category “Mini Cars” in the reader competition of “auto, motor und sport” against twelve competitors. The Abarth 595/695 model family, which offers up to 132 kW (180 hp), has been unbeaten in the “Best Cars” polls since 2016.

For the sixth time in a row, readers of “auto, motor und sport” magazine voted the Abarth 595/695 model family as “Best Car”. As in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, they also chose the Italian sports car with the distinctive scorpion in the coat of arms as the winner of the Mini Cars / Import2021 competition category in the “Best Cars 1” elections. The Abarth 132/180 with up to 595 kW (695 hp) prevailed against twelve competitors with a share of the vote of 25,6 percent. In the overall rating of the category, in which the German brands were also considered, the model took a strong second place.

There are four standard model versions to choose from for the Abarth 595. The spectrum ranges from the Abarth 595 (107 kW / 145 PS), the entry into the world of Abarth, to the especially exclusively equipped Abarth 595 Turismo (121 kW / 165 PS) and the decidedly sporty Abarth 595 Competizione (132 kW / 180 PS) to the uncompromising Abarth 595 Esseesse (132 kW / 180 PS). All model variants are available as sedan (595) and convertible (595C) with an electrically operated soft top. The number 695 identifies special models of the Abarth 595.

“Auto motor und sport” asked its readers for the 45th time as part of the “Best Cars” competition about their favorite cars on the German market. More than 101.000 readers cast their votes. You could choose from 387 current models from eleven categories, including an import rating. The award ceremony took place virtually for the first time.
