2023 Ford Transit Trail: off-road transporters specially made for the USA!

The overlanding mobile home segment has enjoyed great popularity, at least since Corona. And right in the middle is the Ford Transit Trail from Ford Pro, which was presented in the USA last week. Compared to the standard model, the loading master has a good nine centimeters more ground clearance and a track that is seven centimeters wider. It also stands on black 16-inch rims and these are fitted with 30,5-inch (0,77 m) Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse off-road tires. And while we here in Germany have to be satisfied with a maximum of 170 hp, the Transit in the USA rolls out to the customer with a 3,5-liter bi-turbo V6 with 314 hp (231 kW) and a maximum torque of 543 Newton meters. There is also a 10-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. There are also five selectable driving modes (Normal, Eco, Mud/Ruts, Tow/Haul/Slippery).

The Transit also has special splash guards behind the wheels and running boards on both sides are also installed. Incidentally, the largest model extends over an impressive 6,70 meters and is 2,90 meters high. In addition, the Transit can serve with a maximum of 13.800 liters of loading volume. In the driver's cab there is a 12 inch (approx. 30 cm) infotainment screen, the well-known Sync 4 software, various 110 volt, 12 volt and USB sockets for connecting various devices and, conveniently, there are already predefined ones , drillable areas for attaching cupboards, shelves, beds, etc. available.

it starts at around €67.000

And if you order the optional heavy-duty trailer package, the Transit Trail can even pull up to three tons. The Transit Trail starts at around €67.000 and the first deliveries in the USA will start in spring 2023.
