It was a moderate shock for BMW fans and tuners of the Bavarian premium brand when it was announced that the current generation of the one would be converted to front-wheel drive and a transverse engine in order to offer more space. With that, the unique selling point in the compact class was history and the smallest Dingolfing mutated into a real golf competitor with a higher price tag. At the same time, this was a stroke of luck for the two previous generations, which have rear-wheel drive and longitudinally installed engines, because this has made them real classics. In particular, the six-cylinder in-line engines, which have been replaced by turbocharged four-cylinder engines in the current front-wheel drive generation, are becoming more interesting for collectors and BMW enthusiasts. A BMW M140i with R6 turbo, the im United Kingdom is based and was modified by tuner Sam Brookes, we present it to you today.
BMW in Subaru style!
The first to fall on the vehicle is the blue one Painting on that in combination with the golden Rims strongly reminiscent of the legendary Subaru STI colors used in the World Rally Championship. There are also Carbon kidney on the vehicle, R44 Performance Carbon bumper flaps and AutoID mirror caps made of carbon with an M look. There is also a black one diffuser with a glossy finish on the M140i, which comes from Rieger Tuning and rounds off the modifications to the body. Of course that is allowed too Suspension not to be left out, and so came Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs used at the front and rear, which allow 25 mm and 30 mm more draft respectively. There are also 19-inchBeer by NV Forged (type NVF-05C), which attract attention with their brushed gold look, on the M140i. In addition, the wheels have a pincer look in a five-twin-spoke design, which is strongly reminiscent of the claws of a crab.
The interior is sporty!
A pair of M performance steering wheel with LED display and various Show found its way into the ones BMW, just like M3 Competition front seats from the F80 series. the backseat had to give way and moved in instead Roll cage of the type T45 from SW Motorsports in the compact. 3-liter R6 turbo petrol engine drives the 1 series!
From three liters displacement (B58B30) the dynamic one brings fabulous 468 HP and more than 640 Newtonmeter maximum torque. This is achieved, among other things, by a Downpipe exhaust system without Kat, which comes from Scorpion. In addition comes a Stage 2 remapping from NVM, which finally ensures that the in-line six-cylinder generates the promised power of 468 HP. The power is transmitted via a Eight-speed automatic from ZF to the Rear wheels, and also became a Wavetrac limited-slip differential installed to increase driving dynamics.
Our conclusion on the BMW M140i:
A rally car in civilian dress that shows that the island understands it, overwhelming Sleeper to create. Kudos to Sam Brookes!
