With the “La Voiture Noire”, the black car, Jean Bugatti once created a special Type 57 SC Atlantic - the most famous and most beautiful car in the world. Only four models were made between 1936 and 1938. The black car disappeared at the beginning of the Second World War. If it were found, it would probably be the most expensive and valuable car in the world. In March 2019, Bugatti chief designer Achim Anscheidt reinterpreted the "La Voiture Noire", lifting the special automobile into the 21st century. For a Bugatti enthusiast, this modern interpretation of the coupe was the ultimate Gran Tourismo. With the one-off, Bugatti once again proved that they build the strongest, most luxurious and most exclusive hyper sports cars in the world. “The true form of luxury is individuality. The 'La Voiture Noire' occupies the spearhead of automotive engineering, it is a sculptural beauty, ”says Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann. A coupe with the comfort of a luxury sedan and the power of a hyper sports car.
Interest in La Voiture Noire continues
The interest in the vehicle with its unique shape has been tremendous ever since. Based on this, Bugatti now offers its customers an edition model in two versions: sporty as "Chiron1 Noire Sportive" and elegant as "Chiron Noire Élégance".
Black exposed carbon covers the noble body of the "Chiron Noire Élégance". The grille of the famous Bugatti cooler gets a new design, in the middle sits the Bugatti emblem "Macaron" made of solid silver and exclusively finished with black enamel. Black-painted brake calipers are used behind the Caractère wheels. The C-shaped Bugatti signature line, milled from solid material, visually breaks through the black body with the matt polished aluminum finish of the "Chiron Noire Élégance". Other accents on the exterior, such as the rear-view mirror and engine cover, are in black exposed carbon and polished aluminum. The lettering "Noire" adorns the side parts in front of the rear wheel and the underside of the rear wing.
The color black also dominates in the interior. Only the "Inner Signature Line" - the light carrier curved based on the outer C-line - consists of the "Chiron Noire Élégance" made of aluminum with a satin finish. The "Noire" lettering on the door sill trims and the outer area of the center console testifies to the edition model, and they are sewn onto the headrests. An additional badge made of carbon embedded in the center armrest shows the exclusivity of the respective edition vehicle.
Bugatti "Chiron Noire Sportive" relies on matt paint
With the "Chiron Noire Sportive", Bugatti covers the visible carbon fiber with a matt black finish. All exterior trim, the C-shaped Bugatti signature line, the wheels, the front spoiler and the radiator grille are kept in matt black. The four visible tailpipes of the titanium exhaust system are painted black, as are parts of the engine cover. In the interior, black dominates even more than in the "Chiron Noire Élégance". Bugatti has the embroidered "Noire" lettering on the inlays in the center console and the headrest in black, as does the aluminum trim in the interior. The inner C-line, switches, buttons and knobs on the dashboard, steering wheel, center console and door handles underline the exclusive, sporty character in matt black.
The iconic 8,0-liter 16-cylinder engine with 1.103 kW / 1.500 hp and 1.600 Nm of torque also serves as the drive. The “Chiron Noire” is also available for the Chiron Sport for an additional € 100.000. The edition model, which is limited to 20 vehicles, will be delivered from the second quarter of 2020 and will cost a basic three million euros.
