In the following video you can see a new record for the fastest Corvette C8 on the quarter mile. The vehicle is from Late Model Racecraft (LMR) and the record run was performed by the Texas Speed Syndicate on Saturday at Houston Raceway Park during the Quick 30 drag event. LMR boss "Steven Fereday" himself was behind the wheel and made it first, in only 8,957 seconds complete the quarter mile at a top speed of 159,80 mph (257,2 km/h). This put the C8 from FuelTech (8,973 / 160,92 miles per hour / approx. 259 km/h) in the shade.

And in another run in the early hours of Sunday morning, the Vette even finished in 8,835 seconds and the discipline at 160,19 miles per hour (approx. 258 km/h). The performance of the LMR-C8 was included about 1.500 PS due to a completely revised Engine including bi-turbo charging. And that too Fuel system has been heavily upgraded. The C8 stood up for this racing slicks with 15-inch beadlock rims and as far as we are aware 38 revisions done on the clutch. It was the only way the dual-clutch transmission could more or less handle the power. And that sometimes means that the Vette lifts the front wheels and does a wheelie.
