1930s tuning on the Cadillac Type 34-A Town Sedan

Hard to believe but this Cadillac Type 34-A Town Sedan is one of the first tuned vehicles ever! And beyond that, he belonged to that Mobster Al Capone! By the way, the real name was Alphonse Gabriel and he was an American mobster (a person who is involved in organized crime) and one of the most notorious criminals in the United States in the 20s and 30s. As head of the "Chicago Outfit", he dominated the Chicago underworld and made millions with illegal gambling, prostitution, protection money extortion and even with the trade in illegal alcohol. And in 1928 the henchmen from Al Capone commissioned Ernest Capstran to convert the Cadillac into a tank. And although he didn't really want that, he had no other choice if he wanted to continue living in peace.

He then painstakingly converted the then brand new Cadillac Series 341-ATown Sedan into a moving fortress. It is believed that this vehicle was the first armored private car in automotive history. The body received countless steel plates, the window panes are bulletproof with additional glass and the rear windows are also provided with a circular hole on the underside. This was used to shoot possible pursuers. The green and black painted gangster car from the Mafia boss is currently for sale on Celebrity Cars and is said to bring a good $ 5,6 million with its tuned 8 liter V90 engine with XNUMX hp.

Value increase YES or NO?

That would be almost three times the value that was still achieved in 2012 for the Cadillac Town sedan from 1928. The vehicle includes plush beige-colored upholstery, the aforementioned modified V8, which accelerates the Cadillac to a good 110 miles per hour (approx. 177 km / h), the first radio with which the police radio could be overheard, and the fact that the car was in use every year 1941 was used for protection by the Secret Service for President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The first-class condition is incidentally in a walkaround video on the YouTube channel of Celebrity cars impressively flaunted. In addition, there is a photo gallery with over 100 pictures, which you can see through at the end of the post.
