The US startup company Czinger unveiled its first work on March 11th at a company event in London, shortly after the actual premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, which had to be canceled due to the corona virus, fell through. Founder and CEO Kevin Czinger also spoke at the premiere party in London, and two different versions of the new hypercar were shown. A pure racetrack variant and a model for "everyday life".
Design - radical like the Le Mans racer
With its ultra-flat and ultra-wide proportions, the rear engine bolide is an absolute eye-catcher at every car show. The complete design of the car is reminiscent of the racing cars of the WEC endurance championship, which is also known to include the Le Mans 24-hour race. From the front, it looks like the legendary Toyota TS050 Hybrid, which is used in this racing series, and has already won many races. The side view is also characterized by the style of a racing car, and the narrow pilot's cockpit, which can be climbed through two large gullwing doors, has been specially designed for use on the racetrack. In addition, the passengers sit in a row and not next to each other, as you know from almost every other car. So this is a 1 + 1 seater. The differences between the road model and the already mentioned track tool are marginal and relate to a larger rear wing, front splitter and wider side skirts. All these parts are of course made of carbon. In the interior, the track version also has full carbon racing bucket seats, while the road version comes with leather-covered bucket seats.
The drive is the highlight of the Czinger 21C.
The beast is fired by a 2,88 liter V8 petrol engine with two turbochargers, which rotates up to 11.000 rpm, thus generating 1250 hp. These are values that are not unlike those of an F1 racing car, with an F1 racing car generating less power. The gasoline engine is supported by 2 electric motors, which are attached to the front axle, and drive the front wheels. Thus, the Czinger 21C has a sophisticated all-wheel system, which makes it stable and safe to drive even at high speeds. The driving performance is breathtaking, as the manufacturer promises a time from 0 to 100 km / h in a ridiculous 1,9 seconds, and the quarter mile is to be completed in an incredible 8,1 seconds. The projectile should reach 300 km / h in 15 seconds, and the supreme discipline for hypercars, 0-400-0 km / h, should take place in an incredible 29 seconds. The top speed is well over 400 km / h, but no specific information is yet available on the top speed. The power transmission takes place via a sequential seven-speed gearbox, which depending on the version either comes in a standard configuration, or as a special racing gearbox, which is optimized for use on the racetrack, and the empty weight of the new Czinger is less than 1200 kg, which means a power-to-weight ratio of less than 1 PS / kg arises. This fabulous value is only undercut by very few automobiles and motorcycles in this world.
Price makes it clear, the Czinger 21C is special.
Limited to 80 pieces and equipped with so much power that the asphalt burns, the new US super sports car is a toy for the super rich. Starting at $ 1,7 million, it's the pleasure of owning one of the most brutal and uncompromising cars of our time, which is street legal. For all fans of the Czinger 21C who are not so well-heeled, we can only hope that there may be a model car or a great poster that you can put in the display case or hang on the wall.
