Dacia eco-g: LPG drive for unlimited mobility!

Environmentally friendly, affordable, safe - Dacia relies on bivalent Eco-G models as an attractive alternative to pure petrol and diesel drives. Eco-G vehicles can be operated with both LPG and petrol. The drive with liquid gas, also known as LPG for liquefied petroleum gas, offers a number of convincing advantages: In addition to currently up to 50 percent lower fuel costs, this includes up to 13 percent lower CO2 emissions without loss of performance and up to 1.300 kilometers with a full petrol and LPG tank Range. Also encounter Eco-G aggregates in the LPG operation no soot particles. Unlike natural gas, LPG itself is not subject to supply bottlenecks and the supply is guaranteed.

Dacia has been increasingly using LPG since 2010 and is currently the only manufacturer to offer LPG as an option for all models with a combustion engine. Since Dacia equips its vehicles with LPG technology right from the factory, customers benefit from the same reliability as with conventionally powered combustion engines. In addition, there is maintenance in the dense Dacia dealer network and the unlimited manufacturer's guarantee of three years or 100.000 kilometers (depending on which case occurs first).

Dacia's Eco-G offer offers many advantages in terms of:

  • Environment: In LPG mode, up to 13 percent less CO2 emissions are produced than in petrol mode. In addition, no soot particles are produced during combustion and only very low NOx emissions.
  • affordability: The price of an Eco-G model is below the price of a diesel variant. However, the additional costs compared to a petrol engine and the 15 percent higher consumption in LPG mode quickly pay off due to the lower fuel costs: LPG is around 40 percent cheaper than premium petrol and 50 percent cheaper than diesel. Even after the current tax advantage has been abolished in 2023, LPG will remain significantly cheaper. Another plus: The maintenance costs and intervals of LPG vehicles correspond to those of petrol models.
  • Operational safety: A fill stop valve limits the filling of the liquid gas tank to 80 percent. In addition, there is a non-return valve and a safety valve, so that the Eco-G models from Dacia have unrestricted access to parking garages and underground garages.

  • Convenience and practicality: In addition to the 50-litre petrol tank, the Eco-G variants have an LPG reservoir made of high-strength steel with a capacity of 40 liters or 49 liters for the Dacia Duster in the spare wheel well. The two fuel tanks together enable a range of up to 1.300 kilometers, enough to drive from Hamburg to Vienna without refueling. The driver can switch from LPG to petrol mode at any time. The filler necks for both fuels are behind a flap, and the filling process for LPG itself only takes around two minutes. The trunk volume remains unchanged despite the second tank.

Many Dacia customers have already recognized these convincing arguments: In September 2022, for example, the Dacia Jogger TCe 100 Eco-G (Autogas (Super), 74 kW (67 kW): Total consumption combined (l/100 km): 7,6 ( 6,0); combined CO2 emissions (g/km): 118 (135), values according to WLTP1 ) with a 55 percent market share – across all manufacturers – the undisputed leader in new registrations with gas drive.

Autogas: a clean alternative since the 1970s

Autogas is a by-product of petroleum refining and has been used as a clean alternative to conventional fuel since the 1970s. There are currently around 15 million LPG vehicles on the road across the EU and around 26 million worldwide. In Europe, LPG is available at 32.000 petrol stations, i.e. at around every fourth petrol station. In Germany, 7.000 filling stations currently carry LPG. This allows unlimited mobility with LPG.
