In contrast to the Lamborghini Aventador, you hear about the predecessor, the Murcielago, hardly anything from the tuning scene. Although there is a vehicle here and there with different rims or perhaps a foil, we are not aware of any really converted copies of the rare athlete. But now we have discovered one that has built in the full range and in any case an absolute one Single copy is. Curtain up for that Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 RWD as FIA GT1 conversion "The Slambo" from DriftWorks and its owner Phil Morisson. And the man behind DW, Phil Morisson, has been known for fast cars for years and regularly comes up with the craziest ideas. Regardless of whether 1JZ-Nissan R32 or V10 BMW E46 M3who have favourited DriftWorks cars are always extreme. And Phil played a big part in that Drift scene also became known in Europe and in 2012 he even wrote the documentary "Outsiders: Japan" released. At that point, he and some of his friends were traveling to Japan to shoot a breathtaking documentary about what drifting in the Land of the Rising Sun is all about.

And back then he wanted to do something other than just JZ conversions, so he created one Toyota Corolla AE86 with Nascar engine and over 700 hp. There was also a mistake Porsche turbo with RWB kit from Driftworks and now there is the spectacular 2006 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, which has been under renovation for a long time and is now finally finished. The LP640 is from the old one FIA GT1 class inspired by the past, where the Murcielagos fought for the crown together with other V12 monsters on various racetracks. Phil himself describes the car as "the stupidest building he has ever made“And it's not that difficult to understand what he means! The renovation began in 2012 and the story behind it was precisely documented by Phil and his employees at Driftworks. The list of modifications is so extensive that you can find them here not in the beginning can go through completely. So let's limit ourselves to that biggest changes.

now with 6-speed manual transmission

The base vehicle had a sequential automatic and was based on Driftworks 6-speed manual transmission rebuilt. The all-wheel drive has also disappeared and in the style of the R-GT version, the one-off is now only from RWD rear-wheel drive fired. While officially only nine Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT were built as a Gran Turismo racing car of the GT1 group, that of Phil could be the official Zehnt to .

The car even has GT1 manifold and a single throttle system and a ITB intake system installed. And then there would be the huge one GT1 body made partly from OEM components (from a vehicle from Le Mans 2008, by TJR Bodywork), which took a total of 14 months to be manufactured. It impresses with numerous air intakes in the fenders, one changed front apron, a fixed one XXL rear wing and the built-in one is just as huge diffuser at the stern. Countless small details such as the new ones headlights with carbon inlays and the many changes in the cabin (Recaro sports seats, Alcantara sports steering wheel, completely new leather and fabric appointments) are just a dream.

black forged wheels and new chassis

There are also ultra-light black ones three-piece 3SDM forged wheels, a completely new one Landing gear, a modified, huge, sports brake system with blue painted calipers and the Verde Ithaca green of the series became a chic one Dark Grey. All of these components make the super sports car absolutely unique. And as already mentioned, the upgrades are far too extensive to list them all here.
