Tuner 1016 Industries is apparently working on a number of 3D printed parts for the McLaren 720S. And that would even bring a world first in terms of accessories for the 720S. During the month, 1016 would like to present the new components that are manufactured using a state-of-the-art 3D printer. The company uses Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to save time in manufacturing the complex parts. "Our focus for this project was on examining how we can effectively use 3D printing parts in the automotive world. The results from manufacturing the McLaren 720S parts are impressive"Said Peter Northrop, founder of 1016 Industries. "With the 3D printing process, we could not only produce faster and more efficiently, but also improve the quality. "

And further: "We are very pleased to present the first 3D-printed McLaren parts to the world that are installed in a ready-to-drive 720S". It took the tuner less than four months to design and manufacture, despite the different sizes and shapes. And 1016 also wanted to show that they can validate and prototype entire vehicle surfaces on a perfect 1: 1 scale. And in the future they want to offer directly printed tool molds for the McLaren 720S and other supercars. So you can be curious!
