The special edition consists of a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, a Mercedes-AMG GT3 (model year 2016) and the current evolutionary stage of the Mercedes-AMG GT3. All three racing vehicles are race-ready one-offs with special features and unique equipment. Its paintwork, which is reminiscent of the striking look of the 300 SEL 6.8 AMG from 50 years ago, is characteristic. In addition to the red base tone, the areas for start numbers and sponsors are unmistakably based on the use in Spa at that time.

The extras in the interior include paintwork in Graphite Metallic Matt and an instrument panel made of carbon fiber. On it is an anniversary badge with the original signature of AMG founder Hans Werner Aufrecht. The special models are also technically exceptional: the performance exhaust system guarantees maximum sound enjoyment. The AMG 6,3-liter V8 naturally aspirated engine can develop its full power level of 478 kW (650 hp) without an air restrictor. The delivery takes place without FIA homologation.

The SLS AMG GT3 "50 Years Legend of Spa" is a completely new racing gullwing from 2021. Officially, production of the model series ended in 2015, but Mercedes-AMG has the last and only one still available for the anniversary edition Body-in-white of the model taken from the warehouse. The special model was rebuilt with it. Together with the other features and equipment of the special edition, the result is a vehicle that cannot be surpassed in terms of uniqueness.

The aluminum spaceframe of the anniversary edition bears the concise number 100.
