Cabriolets are increasingly on the decline in this country. For many these days, hiding in a tin SUV is cooler than basking in the sun in a convertible. But that can change quickly, because it is well known that automotive trends usually do not last long. That's why we want you a modified one Mini Convertible imagine that is doing the rounds in the USA and has been pimped up with every trick in the book by owner Eduardo Mendez.
Mini Convertible (R52)
No, such a Mini Cabriolet does not have to look sweet and cute, it can also be a sly old dog. With a Carbon bonnetto M7 air scoop as well as modified headlights and turn signals, the appearance of the little Brit is clearly sharpened. fender flares and massive side skirts also illustrate the sporty claim of the woman's favorite, which, however, is in male hands in this case. An even snappier handling ensures a Hyper Street One coilovers, which on the rear axle with a M7 Camber Kit equipped to achieve minimal negative camber.
In addition, 8,5×17 inch rims were mounted on the front axle and 10,5×17 inch wheels on the rear axle. These are from BBS, and listen to the model name RC090. With the snow-white finish and the drop center look, paired with the classic BBS look, they cause quite a stir on the road. From our point of view, they also harmonize well with the orange paintwork of the Mini. Last but not least were front calipers from the Mini R56 and perforated Brake discs installed. the Bremsanlage should guarantee a safe deceleration from high speeds.
Completely remodeled interior!
Not a millimeter felt untouched in the cockpit. Not only the Back seat was expanded, but that dashboard was wrapped in orange and the A-pillars now have a carbon look. Furthermore, a large 10,5 inch screen for the completely revised sound and infotainment system indentation, which is directly below the central one instrument cluster is placed. Three 12 inch speaker, two 10-inch midrange drivers as well as two 12 inch subwoofer from Skar Audio, which are installed in the trunk, also found their way into the convertible. This turns the little runabout into a rolling open-air disco when needed.
Around 260 hp ensure driving pleasure!
The Mini by Eduardo Mendez has the 1,6 liter supercharged petrol engine. However, modifications were made to the engine. New Injectors, a new Exhaust System, Intercooler with larger air scoop and changes on boost pressure push the Tritec engine, which resulted from a cooperation with Chrysler and PSA, to approx 260 PS. Switching is via a manual Six-speed transmission and power is sent to the front wheels only.
Unfortunately, we have no information on the exact driving performance. Our verdict on the Mini Cabriolet (R52): You have to dare to do something! A Mini Cabriolet is not necessarily a frequent guest, but Eduardo Mendez knows his trade and created an extraordinary and harmonious vehicle.
