Clean & practical: Restomod 1971 Chevrolet Suburban C10 Deluxe!

What the Volvo V90 Kombi or the Skoda Superb Kombi is nowadays was the Chevrolet Suburban C70 in the 10s. A huge station wagon for the whole family that could be ordered with V6 or V8 on request. What was striking about the body was the single driver's door on the left side as a counterpart to the two doors on the passenger side. Access to the rear was therefore only possible on the right-hand side. Incidentally, the Suburban C10 was available as a rear-wheel drive version and, if desired, with all-wheel drive. And this vehicle is just such a specimen (Vin: CE161F647787) that has been restored from scratch and is currently in perfect condition primoclassicsllc.com is available for purchase.

350 hp and steering wheel gearshift

But clearly it is not a standard version, but a so-called Restomod-Modification. In a nutshell, these are old vehicles with modern technology. And, for example, the 327ci-V8 (5359 cm³) with Rochester carburettor under the hood that sends 350 hp to the wheels by means of a manual gearbox is more modern. And the wheels mentioned are not boring steel rims as was common at the time, but chrome-plated aluminum rims with Dunlop tires that contrast perfectly with the two-tone paintwork in black and white, as well as the chrome-plated aprons and the powerful radiator grille, for the visual appearance. And of course the Suburban also got a brand new chassis including a lowering and of course a lot has happened in the cabin.

Air conditioning and CD radio

Here, too, everything is completely renewed and, in addition, amenities such as more modern air conditioning (the seventh generation (1967–1972) was also available ex works with air conditioning) or a CD radio was introduced. By the way, you also sit in the second row on individual seats and there is even a third row of seats that is equipped with seat belts. In contrast to current vehicles with a third row of seats, the trunk is still more than sufficient and fully usable for the holiday trip. With a total length of almost 5,50 meters, this is not surprising. After all, these are the dimensions of a Mercedes Maybach X 222.
