Restomod: 1966 Chevrolet II Wagon (Nova) on chrome rims!

RM Sothebys has another cool auction going on, but it will be over in 35 hours. There is a completely restored and rebuilt second generation Chevrolet II Wagon (model year 1966) available for auction. There was a two-door variant and a classic one with four doors. The current vehicle is an example with four doors that is equipped with some tasteful details. The Chevy was painted in a bright red Performance engineering rebuilt and essentially unchanged optically. The striking box-shaped body lines are still completely in place. All around there were chrome-plated Budnik five-spoke rims (front 18 inches and rear 19 inches) with fat rubbers and under the hood a 283-cubic-inch V8 engine with aluminum heads and a HEI ignition.

Chassis completely revised

The engine is connected to an automatic transmission that is controlled by an aluminum Lokar gear lever. The chassis has been completely revised and lowered and a new brake system with a large brake booster is now installed in the huge station wagon. And a lot has happened in the cabin too. But here, too, the basic look of the time still exists. You can see leather-covered Procar bucket seats for the driver and front passenger, there is an AM / FM stereo system in the center console and modern additional instruments for the condition of oil, water and the vehicle battery as well as a new speedometer unit are also installed. In our opinion, the visual highlight is the three-spoke steering wheel made of aluminum, which is perfectly integrated into the interior. In principle, this vehicle has tried to deviate as little as possible from the series and only caused a stir with skilfully set accents. It is definitely successful!

lots of chrome and striking red in the mix

The body with the trim strips painted in the vehicle color and the missing trim on the tailgate looks extremely clean and even the many chrome details fit very well, we think. The color combination with the red paint is well chosen by the tuner Performance engineering. The extremely good condition is impressively underlined with a classic roof rack, refurbished headlights and taillights and a flawless body. Take a look at the large gallery at the end of the post and if you are interested then leave a bid for the vehicle with auction number 130 and the chassis number 114356W110462 on Sotheby's there.
