Individuality is a commonly used word; Stand out, be different, have something just for yourself. That is a common wish. There are no limits in the area of premium vehicles. Each manufacturer individualizes according to the wishes of the customer: model, engine, equipment. If you treat yourself to a McLaren 620R, for example, you already have one of only 225 pieces, but in the end there are 224 similar. This is where SIGNal Design comes into play. The wrapping expert from Schwäbisch Hall in Baden-Württemberg sets new standards when it comes to individuality. The world champion and multiple European champion in car wrapping has turned two McLaren 620R into individual works of art from befriended car enthusiasts, each with their own personal touch. This is made possible, among other things, by a partnership with the super sports car expert Dörr Group that has been successful for ten years.

A real one-off from SIGNal Design

Not only does it look like a GT4 racing car, it drives, works and feels like it too. The manufacturer offers three GT4-inspired colors for customization: McLaren Orange, Silica White and Onyx Black, plus various sticker kits. McLaren from Woking in the UK definitely has its own uniqueness, but in the end there will always be a McLaren 620R that looks like all 225 individual cars.

SIGNal Design - the epitome of car wrapping

Dressing a car in a unique dress is often a wish that comes true in Schwäbisch Hall. Because SIGNal Design is multiple European and world champion in car wrapping, and so not only an idea for an individual McLaren 620R, but for two emerged on site. "We wanted to underline the sportiness of the vehicle from the very beginning, while also realizing the self-assured British, but very elegant and subtle style," says Markus Schaeffler, Managing Director of SIGNal Design. "Since the two cars belong to two friends, on the one hand it should be recognizable that the vehicles belong together, but on the other hand each should have their own personal dress." the second in a similar style in bright yellow is in no way inferior to the first, two real one-offs.

This double pack for the eye was made possible, among other things, by the connection to the Dörr Group, Germany's most diverse super sports car dealer with five locations throughout Germany. "We value SIGNal Design as a very professional and high-quality partner with whom we can offer real added value", says Rainer Dörr, founder and owner of the Dörr Group. “Our customers are looking for something very special, something individual that not everyone has in a premium environment. Markus Schaeffler and his team have that. ”The Dörr Group was founded in 2011 in Frankfurt am Main with the opening of McLaren Frankfurt and has since relied on the foils from Schwäbisch Hall.

Optimal combination of protection and beauty

SIGNal Design attaches great importance to the greatest depth of detail and only works with experts. Only decorative film from premium supplier Avery Dennison is used for the design. This can be deformed in all directions and lasts a particularly long time on the vehicle. The film technicians from SIGNal Design also attach a paint protection film from Xpel underneath, which protects the vehicles from stone chips. Since the film is so thick at 200 µ that it is difficult to process directly on the car, each vehicle is digitized beforehand and the individual components are used up with a template. The advantage of not having to cut the paint. Then you can even scratch the foil with a key, for example, within 48 hours it heals itself through heat, so to speak, and looks perfect again. An immense advantage compared to thinner foils that do not have this function.

With this principle of protection and beauty, Markus Schaeffler was not only able to make countless car enthusiasts happy, but has already won a world and several European championship titles in car wrapping. In the summer he will start again, then with two Porsche Taycans, which were created in collaboration with the artist Timo Wuerz.
