The ŠKODA OCTAVIA is the heart of the Czech car manufacturer and tops the bestseller lists in numerous European countries. In the fourth generation of the OCTAVIA, the robust SCOUT and two other sporty RS variants complete the portfolio. By electrifying the powertrain using the new mild hybrid technology and two OCTAVIA iV models with plug-in hybrid drives, ŠKODA once again significantly reduces the CO2 emissions of the new OCTAVIA. The bestseller's IV variants drive up to 60 kilometers locally without emissions in the WLTP cycle1, and the internal combustion engines are also constantly being further developed. They are even more efficient and ŠKODA has reduced the emission of nitrogen oxides by around 80 percent using the 'Twindosing' process in the diesel generators of the new EVO generation.
there is a maximum of 245 hp in the RS
With two body variants, front or all-wheel drive, manual gearbox or direct shift gearbox (DSG) and five drive options - petrol, diesel, CNG, mild and plug-in hybrid - every ŠKODA customer will find the right OCTAVIA. The heart of the all-wheel drive in the OCTAVIA is the electronically controlled multi-plate clutch, which after the extensive technical revision in the current sixth generation is also significantly lighter than its predecessor. And from September 2020, the new Octavia will also be available as RS. Here you can choose between three drives with up to 245 HP. And the new RS is available as a five-door sedan and also as a more spacious station wagon. Visually, the RS shows itself with a black grille without chrome trim, outside mirrors in black, black window frames and new aprons at the front and rear.
Differences from the RS to the "normalo" Octavia
In addition, a few subtle RS badges (RS stands for Rally Sport), new rims (with black elements) and a rear spoiler lip in black. Inside there is a dashboard with Alcantara, decorative strips in carbon look and pedals in aluminum design. Sports seats and three engine variants under the hood. The RS is available as a petrol, diesel and even as a plug-in hybrid:
- 2.0 TSI petrol engine with 245 hp, 6,7 seconds at 100 km / h
- 1.4 TSI plug-in hybrid with 245 hp, 13 kWh battery, 110 kW / 150 hp gasoline and 85 kW electric motor, 225 km / h top speed and 7,3 seconds to 100 km / h, up to 60 kilometers purely electric
- 200 PS Diesel 2.0 TDI (also with all-wheel drive) and with ("twin-dosing process")
The TSi models have an electronic front axle differential lock on the front axle and they do not take much in terms of performance. Approx. 7 seconds pass for the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h. The top speeds are up to 250 km / h. If we receive timely information on further changes compared to the "normal" Octavia, there is of course an update for this report.
