Volkswagen concept vehicles for the SEMA Auto Show 2022!

For this year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Volkswagen of America, Inc. again new concept vehicles built. From today (November 01.11.2022st, 4) until November XNUMXth you can admire them on site. The special fleet of custom-made products includes adventure concepts, which are based on Volkswagen SUV models, there are special ones performance vehicles and some historical ones too performance specimens to see.

Atlas Basecamp camping concept

With rugged Basecamp styling components and a graphics pack that does Atlas Basecamp camping concept nature more accessible. The concept is based on a Volkswagen Atlas SEL VR6 3.6L 4Motion from 2022 and has an H&R lift with Street Performance Adventure Lift coilovers and TRAK+ wheel spacers. There are also custom lights and 17-inch rims from fifteen52 (type Traverse MX) in Frosted Graphite with 245/70R17 off-road tires. To increase the versatility of the Atlas, the concept includes a base carrier from Volkswagen accessories with a Thule basket and side awning, as well as a prototype of a 2-in-1 air pump from NSV, which is integrated in the trunk to inflate a camping mattress, for example .

Other accessories include a full-display mirror, Tuffy Security Products safe, tablet holder, Muddybuddy trunk mat, roadside assistance and first-aid kit, Bumperdillo bumper guard and hood attachment. The Atlas Basecamp camping concept will be on display with an air mattress, camping lights and a fire extinguisher.

Taos Basecamp Active Concept

The Taos Basecamp Active concept is based on a 2022 Volkswagen Taos SEL 4Motion and carries robust Basecamp design components and a graphics package consistent with that of the Atlas Basecamp Camping concept. Similar to the Atlas concept, the Taos concept features 17-inch fifteen52 Frosted Graphite Traverse MX wheels with 225/55R17 off-road tires, as well as a lift kit with H&R springs and TRAK+ wheel spacers.

There is also a Volkswagen basic carrier and bike carrier, the full display mirror, tablet holder, a Muddybuddy trunk mat, a roadside assistance and first aid kit, a Bumperdillo loading sill protection and a special cover for the rear seats. There was also a load compartment partition and additional lighting in the trunk. The Taos Basecamp Active concept will be on display with Marin bikes and bike helmets.

ID.4 EV Drone Command Concept

Volkswagen America, in collaboration with the Tennessee Valley Authority, converted a 2023 ID.4 AWD Pro S as a "Mobile Drone Response Vehicle". You can see a graphics package on the outside, there was a storage kit for drones and field equipment in the trunk and there is also a portable electric power plant. The versatility is complemented by a Thule Caprock platform roof rack, there was a Thule side awning and new 18-inch rims that effortlessly handle the weight of the additional equipment with H&R TRAK+ wheel spacers, 245/60R18 all-terrain tires and a high-performance chassis.

Emergency lighting for the roadside and additional lights installed on the side and rear are also included. Installed inside is a digital rearview mirror and other VW accessories include a mudguard, spare tire kit, dock & hangers and a Muddybuddy trunk mat. The ID.4 EV Drone Command concept is shown with recovery boards and fire extinguishers.

ID.4 Accessories Concept

The ID.4 Accessories Concept is based on a 2021 ID.4 1st Edition and is equipped with lifestyle elements. There is also the basic carrier from Volkswagen Accessories, plus a Thule Canyon basket and an Apex XT 9025XT bike carrier mounted on the trailer hitch.

A splash guard is also installed behind the wheels, there were 18 inch rims (245/60R18 all-terrain tires), H&R TRAK + wheel spacers and the full display mirror with Homelink Connect inside, a rear seat cover, a spare wheel kit, dock & coat hanger, a roadside assistance and first aid kit, and all-season floor mats from Monster Mats.

GTI accessories concept

Based on a 2022 Volkswagen GTI SE with six-speed manual transmission, the concept car features Oettinger body components (front skirt, rear skirt, rear spoiler) and 20-inch multi-spoke gloss black wheels with 245/30R20 performance tires. The brake system consists, among other things, of an eight-piston system at the front, with 14,6 inches (approx. 37 cm) large ventilated and perforated discs and there was also a lowering using the H&R Street Performance coilover kit.

In addition, there is a colour-coordinated roof box on VW basic carriers on the roof. Also on display are GTI hub caps, dynamic turn signals and a black Bumperdillo loading sill protector.

Jetta GLI Performance Concept

The VW Jetta GLI performance concept celebrates the "GTI with trunk". A widebody kit is installed (+20 mm wider fenders), an individual front apron with larger air intakes, modified side skirts, a sports exhaust system and there was an individual foil that goes from matt black to Kings Red Metallic. There were also colour-coordinated 20-inch Rotiform rims with Aerodiscs and summer tires. Behind these sits a RacingLine Stage 3+ brake kit with six-piston calipers and 15-inch (381 mm) carbon-ceramic discs. And special underbody struts and a RacingLine TrackSport coilover suspension are also installed.

And then there was the engine. The turbocharged 2,0 liter four-cylinder got a RacingLine performance package with a carbon cold air intake, a new intercooler and an oil management kit with a different oil cooler. In addition, a new software for the motor control. Thanks to the modifications, the engine delivers a strong 355 PS & 503 Nm of torque, which corresponds to an increase of 124 PS & 154 NM. The engine is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission and the front wheels are driven. Inside, the special edition is rounded off with Recaro Pole Position seats with integrated headrests and a few smaller details.

2022 Golf R

The SEMA vehicle is a Golf R with 19-inch rims and size 235/35 summer tires. VW accessories on display include R-specific MonsterMats all-season mats, a frameless rear-view mirror with HomeLink Connect capability, and a Bumperdillo rear bumper guard.
