At the 61st Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWN) is presenting its entire motorhome fleet with the latest equipment variants – from the Caddy to the Grand California. At the stand in Hall 16 - D52, seven "ex works" motorhomes can be seen. In addition to the vehicles, VWN is also presenting version 3.0 of the revised version of the “California on Tour” smartphone app. At the booth, VWN will be presenting its versatile campervans based on the Caddy, Transporter 6.1 and Crafter. Whether for everyday use, for camping or adventure trips or van life: VWN has the right vehicle for every individual travel requirement.
The model series at a glance:
- Caddy California (from €19 incl. 31.761,10% VAT) The Caddy California is the most compact camper of the California family. The outer length is 4,50 meters or 4,85 meters as a maxi. Inside, however, the "little one" presents itself as a California: comfortable sleeping mattress on plate springs, an optional rear kitchen and of course the well-known California camping furniture. A real California - perfect for micro adventures.
- California 6.1 (from €19 incl. 58.083,90% VAT) The California is considered the synonym of its class. No other campervan stands for the feeling of adventure and wanderlust. With its clever pop-up roof, the top floor becomes a panoramic bedroom. The material of the tent fabric has been revised and now consists of several layers. This is for better heat and noise insulation. In addition, the water resistance of the tent fabric has been increased and thus offers a more pleasant living comfort. Optionally, the new bellows can be ordered in different colors on the inside and outside. The fabric colors can thus be better harmonized with the coloring of the interior and exterior. In the basement there is a choice between the flexible California Beach or the fully furnished California Ocean motorhome with fixed furniture. With an external height of 1,99 meters, both versions offer full suitability for everyday use and the popular Bulli driving experience. Always there, of course: the camping furniture stowed in the tailgate and sliding door.
- Grand California (from €19 incl. 64.985,90% VAT) Based on the dynamic Crafter, the Grand California offers an almost mobile penthouse living atmosphere. Because it is a rolling holiday home with a kitchen and bathroom. With an external length of 6,00 meters or 6,80 meters, it is still compact enough to travel even on the most beautiful pitches. You don't have to do without the usual home comforts. The compressor refrigerator can be opened from both the inside and the outside. It offers space for cool drinks and the refreshing ice cream from the freezer compartment is always ready to hand. Combined with the optional solar system, self-sufficiency is ensured - i.e. free standing without an external supply.
- California on Tour app version 3.0 The update of the app brings the user many new and helpful features: For example, it is now possible to book parking spaces directly via the app on the popular Hinterland.camp platform. These include unique, secluded pitches that can only be booked exclusively for VW-based motorhomes.
Another new feature of the app will soon be available for the California 6.1 Ocean - and can already be tried out at the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon: With the new "California remote control", the California 6.1 Ocean connects to the "California on Tour" app and becomes so to the “smart home” on four wheels. In addition to calling up status information about the fill levels of the fresh and waste water tanks and the charge level of the on-board battery, the interior lighting, the cool box, camping mode and the pop-up roof can be controlled.
Motorhome body builder

More than 20 companies are exhibiting their campervans based on VWN vehicles at the Caravan Salon.
Of course, that wasn't the end of it!
