Lone Peak presents Pick-Up Camper Pick-up setup!

The Company Lone Peak develops and builds customized camping cabins for various pick-up models. The tailor-made attachments consist of a low-profile, weatherproof attachment cabin and a quick-erect folding roof that sets up in a minute. In contrast to conventional pick-up camper vans, which have an alcove that extends over the cab, the Lone Peak camper box has less air resistance because it rises just a few centimeters above the cockpit. The bed is under the tent-like pop-up roof, but not in the alcove.

The roof can be opened and set up within a few seconds and the lying area that is then created is a little over two meters long and as wide as the base vehicle allows. The tent bellows has openings on all three sides, so you can enjoy a good view of the surroundings or ensure adequate ventilation on hot days. Despite the flat design, you can easily leave a sleeping bag and a pillow on top when the roof is closed without having to put them away.

The lying surface pad can also be pushed up with the help of springs, creating a covered living space on the loading area. Depending on personal preferences, seating or cooking facilities can then be installed. While Lone Camper doesn't offer full kitchen equipment or water canisters, there are plenty of other accessories. For additional camping equipment, you can buy additional gadgets when ordering the Lone Peak Camper, such as handles or a collapsible ladder. A pass-through window into the driver's cab can also be added on request.

However, since the loading options in the rear area are lost due to the living area, roof racks can provide additional storage space. When closed, the roof can be loaded with up to 54 kg, when open it still weighs around 36 kg. And in order to stow everyday camping equipment, practical luggage cassettes can be installed on the sides of the box, the contents of which are accessible from the outside even when the roof is closed. Solar panels can also be mounted on the roof, the connection of which is available via Lone Peak.

energy obtained from solar energy

The energy generated by solar energy can be used, for example, for the LED lighting of the pop-up roof, which is equipped with 12-volt power connections. Alternatively, the energy can be used for an LED laser light bar above the driver's cab to also have good visibility off-road at night. The price for the folding pick-up cab is currently 5.995 US dollars, the equivalent of around 5.360 €. With all of the above accessories, however, that quickly adds an additional $2.200, bringing the total price to $8.195, or around €7.700. The Lone Peak Camper can be ordered now, with delivery starting next August.

It is unclear whether the company also delivers to Europe. While it may seem like a cheap way to convert a pickup truck into a camper, upon closer inspection, we find the offering to be slightly more expensive. Since every cabin is made to order, a large part of the camping equipment is part of the special accessories. This allows for a relatively low base price (less than $6.000), but if you actually want to take it on vacation with it, you have to dig deeper into your pocket. After all, such an off-road pick-up allows almost unlimited mobility on any terrain.
