The new Artura marks the debut of an all-new, compact V6 gasoline engine with two turbochargers, which is to be combined with an electric motor in a new, lightweight, high-performance hybrid powertrain that maintains the performance advantages of the larger-displacement V8 engines from McLaren and has the added attraction of improved torque behavior at low speeds to achieve brilliant acceleration. The Artura is the first car based on a brand new platform architecture optimized for electrification and is designed and manufactured in the UK at the McLaren Composites Technology Center.
