Borbet rims from Kodersdorf - a round classic

The roots of the traditional family business Borbet from the Sauerland region go back a long way. The company was founded 1881 as a brass foundry in Altena, Westphalia. 1928, the production was expanded by aluminum sand casting and 1962 was founded today's headquarters in Hallenberg-Hesborn. Initially castings of all kinds were produced at the new location. From 1977 production of light-alloy wheels began. From 1989 Borbet expanded through acquisitions and grew steadily to today's international company with eight locations on three continents. Apart from the parent plant in the Sauerland Hallenberg, as well as locations in Germany (BORBET Sachsen GmbH in the industrial street 3, 02923 Kodersdorf) and Austria, Borbet maintains production plants in the USA and South Africa.

Today, Borbet is known as the original equipment manufacturer for its light-alloy wheels, which are also in demand in car tuning. By using innovative technologies in combination with groundbreaking designs, Borbet has managed to win at least one award for its products almost every year since 2006. As an official partner Borbet cooperates as original equipment manufacturer with various automobile manufacturers, such as BMW, Audi, or Volkswagen, but also manufacturers of higher-class automobiles, such as Jaguar, Porsche and Aston Martin, are among the customers of the company. The Borbet light-alloy wheels provide an optimal driving experience, are also durable and safe, making them ideal for tuning purposes.

As an internationally active company, Borbet is involved in the areas of human rights and environmental protection. Borbet speaks out vehemently against child and forced labor, as well as discrimination of any kind and tolerates it neither in the own enterprise, nor with its partners and suppliers. The long-established company strives to recycle its most important raw material, aluminum, at all locations to 100%. Through various innovations and technical processes such as flow-forming and undercut, Borbet manages to reduce the weight of the bike and, moreover, to use raw materials sparingly. The reduction of the wheel weight is an important factor in autotuning and paired with their award-winning, high quality, the light-alloy wheels from Borbet are of particular interest for the tuning sector.

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
