2022 Slimsport roof rack system

The South African company Front Runner is known for its reliable and innovative SUV equipment, especially for overlanding and camping. The company is now announcing the launch of the new Slimsport roof rack system that fills an additional niche in the overland market and is compatible with select pickup and soft-roaders.

Suitable for models such as the Ford Ranger T6 / Wildtrak / Raptor or the Subaru XV Crosstrek

The Slimsport roof rack follows in the footsteps of the proven Slimline II roof rack system and complements the Front Runner range. Developed for the active and sporty target group, the roof rack system is intended to transport sports equipment to remote locations, to the water or to the mountains. It is less intended for longer expeditions. The range offers numerous other accessories for mounting on and above the roof rack. Suitable for dusty side streets or everyday urban life, the Slimsport roof rack has an RRP of 565,00 to 855,00 euros, depending on the model. With the new price range, Front Runner continues to ensure its customers the usual and proven quality standards.

By integrating mounting feet into the side rails, developing a flatter crossbar and using a rubberized windbreak panel, the Slimsport roof rack has a sleek and stylish design while reducing wind noise and drag. To maintain the streamlined design, Front Runner has developed new accessories such as the 40" Auxiliary Lamp Windshield Fairing (MSRP €85,00-135,00) and a side-mount accessory bracket (MSRP €27,99). They enable the user to equip their vehicle individually for the planned adventure. Like the Slimline II roof rack, the Slimsport roof rack can utilize the T-track on the crossbars, allowing most Front Runner accessories to be used on the roof rack.

The new Front Runner roof rack system is currently compatible with the following vehicles:

  • Ford F150 Super Crew (2018 – 2020)
  • Ford Ranger T6/Wildtrak/Raptor (2012–present)
  • Subaru XV Crosstrek (2018–present)
  • Toyota Tacoma (2005–present)
  • Toyota 4Runner (2010 - present)
  • Toyota Hilux DC (2015 – 2021)

Front Runner will continue to expand the range to ensure compatibility with even more vehicle models. The luggage rack kits are available in two different versions: without and with a cut-out (headlight ready) in the windshield fairing for the installation of the Front Runner 40" LED VX1000-CB auxiliary headlight with Osram technology. All roof rack kits and special accessories for Slimsport can be found in the provider's online shop. The Front Runner Slimsport luggage carrier can now be purchased directly from the online shop, in the showroom in Hanover or from one of the official Front Runner dealers on site.
