New challenges & solutions for modifications of the latest VAG Group vehicles!

[Display]

(English version) Volkswagen AG has been introducing new safety standards for some time that limit OBD access to the latest models. They've added an extra layer of security that is SFD (Protection vehicle diagnostics) names. It requires authorization between the vehicle and the manufacturer and is not intended to allow vehicle modifications without additional information (Email, basic personal information, two-factor authentication enabled) allow more. Voltas IT, the manufacturer of the professional Bluetooth diagnostic device OBDeleven, meets these strict safety requirements of Volkswagen AG, which enable the device to without additional fee to communicate directly with the Volkswagen servers in order to unlock the corresponding control units. OBDeleven is the first third-party diagnostic tool that unlocks the SFD Real time allows.

The SFD is designed to collect information about who and when makes changes to the controller. It applies to VAG vehicles from 2020 with the MQB platforms Evo (VW Golf 8, Škoda Octavia IV, Seat Leon IV, Audi A3 8Y etc.) and MEB (VW ID.3, ID.4, Škoda Enyaq, etc.) and restricts functions such as various adjustments, coding, parameterization, etc. Control units protected by the SFD are, for example, the engine electronics, the central electrics, the instrument cluster, the gateway or the multimedia unit.

This means that if owners of a current VW Golf VIII want to unlock hidden functions, such as activating mirror lowering when reverse gear is engaged or various light settings, then a diagnostic device must be used that enables the SFD to be unlocked. This requires purchasing an official merchant account (known as GeKo) or a one-time unlock subscription (called an SFD unlock token). And it is sometimes even possible that a computer and a special adapter are required. OBDeleven can do the functions mentioned and much more without additional costs, without additional effort and without additional devices unlock.

And hidden displays in the instrument cluster (e.g. the transmission temperature) or the activation of turn signals when locking or unlocking the vehicle can be unlocked. A lot of hidden functions can be done by using pre-built ones Coding Templates - One Click Apps - be performed. They have been specially created to allow the layman to easily unlock and change the vehicle's functions.

And even when it comes to professional use, OBDeleven can implement the important functions of the dealer devices. Even manual configurations or long coding are available for advanced users without the SFD as an obstacle. Other devices usually require a whole series of complex processes to unlock the SFD. OBDeleven can do this automatically, without having to do a lot of configuration or wait a long time for an answer. OBDeleven – a cloud-based professional diagnostic software, which can also read and adjust brand new vehicles of the VAG Group via the mobile application.
