Fiat, Abarth & Lancia Museum in Turin: Heritage Hub open!

The Heritage Hub in Turin, the official museum of the Fiat, Lancia and Abarth brands, is now open to the public. This move was made possible by the long-standing collaboration between the Stellantis Group's Heritage Department, the City of Turin and the National Automobile Museum of Italy. Located in the Mirafiori industrial complex (Via Plava 80), the Heritage Hub offers tours of around two hours three days a week, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The Heritage Hub is open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets are available online at the Turin Automobile Museums joint website.

Heritage Hub open

The Heritage Hub of the Stellantis Group houses offices and, above all, the collection of historic vehicles from the automobile brands Abarth, Fiat and Lancia on an area of around 15.000 square meters. The building, put into operation in 1968, was originally a production hall (Workshop 81) of the Mirafiori plant in the Turin suburb of the same name. In the Workshop 81 For more than 30 years, mechanical components in particular have been manufactured for various large-scale models. The restoration placed great emphasis on preserving the industrial spirit of the building. For example, the raw concrete floor was preserved in the color scheme of that time. The historical Workshop 81 today forms the ideal stage for the presentation of more than 300 classic automobiles. Various aspects of the history of the great Turin brands are presented here in an interdisciplinary manner.

In the center of the exhibition area are 64 classic cars that represent eight areas:

  • Records and Races: models successful in motorsport
  • Concepts and Fuoriserie: rare models, exceptional one-offs
  • Archistars: models that pioneered the mechanical structure of the automobile
  • Eco and Sustainable: particularly environmentally friendly vehicle models
  • Small and Safe: Vehicle models that combined safety and small dimensions
  • Style Marks: Cars that wrote design history
  • Epic Journeys: Vehicles that have been used to undertake spectacular journeys
  • The Rally Era: Milestones in Rallying

The other vehicles in the collection are grouped by make in ascending chronology. In addition to classics from Fiat, Abarth and Lancia, selected vintage cars from Alfa Romeo, Autobianchi and Jeep are also on display. A highlight are 16 Fiats of the Carabinieri. The range from the Fiat 600 Multipla to the Fiat Panda and Fiat 1100 to the Fiat Campagnola SUV covers a period of almost half a century. It illustrates the long collaboration between Fiat and the Italian federal police, which extends to the present day. A separate exhibition room is devoted to the history of the Mirafiori work from 1939 to the present day. This area of the Heritage Hub also houses workshops and conference rooms with a capacity of up to 200 people. The engine hall, in which more than 30 of the most important engines from the more than 100-year history of Fiat and Lancia as well as Abarth are presented, is an ideal setting for a conference.

Milestones in Italian automotive history

These include milestones in Italian automotive history such as the four-cylinder, which made its debut in the Fiat 1955 in 600 and was installed in various models in further developed versions for around 50 years. Also on display are electric motors, turbines and even steam engines. In addition to the guided tours, which are offered in Italian and English and, on request, in other European languages, the premises can also be rented by institutions and companies for cultural and corporate events. The Heritage Hub is at the forefront of the numerous activities of the Stellantis department commissioned with the preservation of the history of Fiat, Abarth and Lancia. The offer also includes a wide range of services and products related to classic cars, including certification, maintenance and restoration as well as the sale and refurbishment of high-quality spare parts.
