Video: Duramax L5P V8 with over 1.000 PS on the test bench!

The following video shows you what the 6,6 liter L5P Duramax Diesel V8 from General Motor is capable of. It is installed in current GM pickups and the Banks Power team has published a video on YouTube that shows how you can push the engine to its limits. So far, Banks Power had optimized the intake of the L5P V8, exchanged the standard turbocharger for a larger one from Precision and installed a special 5 inch exhaust system. In addition, a strong fuel pump, larger injection nozzles and a Banks camshaft. The new cam was the last component. The engine on the company’s test bench now delivered tremendous 1.004 horsepower and an incredible 1.875 NM torque, which even Banks was surprised to find. And apart from the camshaft is IM Engine everything series. By the way, the 6,6 l V8 L5P Duramax engine delivers 453 hp at 2.800 rpm and 1.234 NM torque at 1.600 rpm and is installed in the current Chevrolet Silverado HD and in the GMC Sierra HD and connected to a 10-speed Automatic coupled by Allison.

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
