The Voro Motors Roadrunner Tronic is a crazy hybrid model between an e-bike and a scooter, even though it doesn't have any pedals at all. It is powered by two motors that manage to accelerate the part to a breathtaking 105 km/h. With its massive, over 2 kWh battery, it can also cover a distance of up to 90 kilometers. It is basically based on the Roadrunner e-scooter from Voro Motors, but it has received a decent power injection. But the basic model of the Roadrunner Tronic is not bad either: With a top speed of 56 km/h, two motors (500 watts at the rear and 350 watts at the front) and a 1,25 kWh battery it is more than just well equipped. However, since the compact scooter apparently still had room for improvement, Voro Motors decided on some tuning modifications.
Voro Motors Roadrunner Tronic
The Tronic was given two motors, each with an output of 5.000 watts, which corresponds to a total of 10 kW or around 13 hp, comparable to a full-fledged e-scooter. The power pack is also powered by a 2 kWh battery in a 72 volt system, which, according to Voro, enables a range of up to 90 kilometers. The Tronic's throttle was developed by Rion, a manufacturer of high-performance e-scooters, whose Curve technology promises precise power control. Thanks to the motor control, even braking can be done with a recuperation function.
anything but a bargain
Equipped with Zoom 4-cylinder hydraulic brakes front and rear, the Roadrunner Tronic only has an adjustable damper on the front wheel, while the rear 14-inch counterpart is fixed. Bumpy roads should therefore be avoided, especially at high speeds, and the e-bike, which weighs almost 30 kilograms, is generally not suitable for off-road excursions. Voro Motors plans to sell the Roadrunner Tronic in the US towards the end of June for the equivalent of €4.230, which is almost triple the price of the base model Roadrunner at around €1.600.
