The CMT 2023 was one of the largest and most important trade fairs for the camping industry in 2023. From January 14th to 22nd, over 2000 exhibitors from 100 countries presented their latest products and services related to travel and leisure. Visitors were able to find out about the trends for the new camping season and be inspired. One of the trends was the issue of sustainability. Many manufacturers showed how they make their vehicles and tents more environmentally friendly. Among other things, there were mobile homes with solar systems, electric drives or hybrid technology. Recycled materials, natural colors and biodegradable materials were also used in the tents.
Mobile Homes, Campers, Vans & Co.
Another trend was digitalization. Camping equipment is becoming smarter and more connected. For example, there were apps that showed how full the gas bottle was or how much water was in the tank. Or tents that can be set up and taken down by voice command. Motorhomes that can be controlled or monitored via smartphone were also on display. A third trend was the subject of individualization. Campers increasingly want to realize their own wishes and needs. For example, there were mobile homes that could be built and converted in a modular manner. 2023 Knaus Tourer CUV
The Knaus Tourer CUV is an innovative vehicle for everyone who likes to travel and camp. It is based on the VW T6.1, a proven transporter with modern technology and comfort. But the Tourer CUV has even more to offer: It has a unique lifting roof that transforms the entire interior into a spacious living and sleeping area. The lifting roof can be raised and lowered at the touch of a button and offers a standing height of 2,10 metres. In the roof there is a large bed for two people with a lying surface of 2 x 1,40 meters.
Underneath there is a seating area with a table and two swivel seats, which also serve as driver and front passenger seats. The kitchen is equipped with a two-burner stove, a sink and a 50 liter compressor fridge. The bathroom has a cassette toilet, a sink and a shower. The Pilote Atlas is a new camper based on the Ford Transit Trail. Introduced to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Pilote brand, it aims to appeal to the most adventurous of people. The Atlas is characterized by its sporty design with a characterful radiator grille, black 16-inch rims and, above all, a chassis with increased traction. It is therefore particularly suitable for uneven terrain and offers more self-sufficiency than other camper vans. The Atlas has a height of 2,65 meters and offers a great sense of space in the interior. It has a kitchenette next to the sliding door, a bathroom opposite and a transverse bed in the rear.
The rear garage is so large that a motorcycle can easily be stowed away. The camper has a diesel heater, solar panels and two lithium on-board batteries as standard. It can be driven by anyone with a class B driver's license and has a gross vehicle weight of 3,5 tons. The Pilote Atlas is a camper van for everyone who likes to go on a journey of discovery without sacrificing comfort.
