With the Hellcat engine from Dodge, the brand's performance vehicles suddenly rose to a completely new level. 717 PS (527 kW) ex works were a real announcement and the one presented later Dodge Demon with up to 852 HP (627 kW) could hardly be put into words. But the 1.000 hp Hellephant engine, which is used as a Crate engine im 1968 Dodge Charger MOPAR HELPHANT premiered in 2018. With it, old classics can be converted into crazy rockets. And one such vehicle is this Dodge Charger from 1968. It got one Hellephant engine built in, which was not easy, however. The renovation took almost two years and cost well 200.000 US Dollars. And why that was so becomes clear in the video below. The result shows you engine compartment, looks flawless and shows no unnecessary cables or hoses on the 426 cubic inch (7,0 liter) supercharged V8.
1.000 PS & 1.288 NM torque
The engine performs well 1.000 PS and 1.288 Newtonmeter torque and is coupled to a Six-speed Bowler Tremec T-56 Magnum transmission. This enables the Dodge to reach a top speed of over 270 kilometers per hour. And you can't even see it visually. The conversion is extremely clean and there was also no chrome at the vehicle. But there were a few other changes. the window frame are new that rear window is inserted flush in the rear area and the gray one Painting with the unique Elephant motif on the rear side panels as well as the new one Badge in the grille are extremely successful. Only the wheelset in body color is a matter of taste, as we think. By the way, the cabin is as standard as possible. She is with Italian leather lined, but still unmistakably that of a '68 Charger. The rest of the extremely complex changes are best seen in the video. Have fun with it!
