It took many millions of euros and almost four years of development, but now the new AC Cobra GT has been unveiled. It is a modern interpretation of the old Cobra and basically looks like its legendary predecessor. But it's new from the ground up and has a lot of modern equipment, including disc brakes all round and a few extras like air conditioning, power windows and even a navigation system. The British carmaker says the new version is 4.225mm longer than the Cobra Mk VI, some 110mm longer, with the wheelbase growing by a whopping 284mm to 2.570mm. AC Cars also mention that this significantly improves cockpit space and that the wider track combined with the low center of gravity and better weight distribution should contribute to much better handling.

The curb weight of the car is less than 1.450 kg thanks to the aluminum spaceframe chassis and other significant changes. AC Cars sells the new Cobra GT with two engines, including a naturally aspirated and supercharged 5,0-liter V8. The basic engine is a free-sucking 460 hp and 570 Nm torque eight-cylinder, which is boosted to 663 hp & 780 Nm as a compressor variant. The latter is said to be able to reach 100 km/h in just 3,5 seconds. There are also two transmission options. These include a six-speed manual and a ten-speed automatic with shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel.
only 250 vehicles are built
And according to various rumors on the net, a third variant could also come as an "entry-level version". However, since AC Cars has not yet confirmed this, the statement should be treated with caution. Incidentally, the British manufacturer states that only 250 vehicles of the new Cobra GT Roadster will be built and that the first year of production is already fully booked. The new model will cost £285.000 in England. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to.
