As we know, the C2 Chevrolet Corvette is widely recognized as one of the most beautiful automobiles ever built. And so it is not surprising that it is one of the most common bases for the currently popular Restomod conversions. We actually want as many C2 Vettes as possible original stay, but anyone who combines the appearance of a Stingray, which is optically almost standard with the performance of a current sports car, as well as in this case, will of course be forgiven. The 66 Corvette convertible as Restomod, which will be auctioned this week at a Barrett-Jackson auction, was probably the realization of a dream of owning an old vehicle with ultra-modern components and a lot of power. But apparently the proud owner didn't really get around to driving the one-off. Because since its completion in December 2010, the C2 has only added 600 miles (approx. 966 km) to the odometer. Actually a shame, because at least a 500 PS strong 6.2L LS3 V8 is working under the hood, which was coupled to a classic five-speed manual transmission.

And of course the special features of the C2 don't stop with the transmission and the engine. The vehicle sits on a new Art Morrison chassis with chassis elements similar to those of the C5 and C6 Corvette, and all around there are disc brakes from a C5 Corvette Z06 with red calipers, brand new 18-inch alloy wheels at the front and 19-inch rear, and a modern one Power steering. In the interior of the Vette, a white Oyster leather interior is installed that extends over the seats, doors and the dashboard and there is also a billet steering wheel, electronic instruments and even a vintage air conditioning system. The C2 is also equipped with two roofs. A white hood that matches the interior and an OEM hardtop painted in body color. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
