There are few cars as iconic and coveted as the Pontiac GTO, and thanks to the TransAm Depots there has even been a modern interpretation of the classic for some time, based on a fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro. The best example is this bright red example based on a 2013 vehicle. The remodeling known as that 6T9 GTO Convertible, is a brilliant example of what happens when you combine classic designs with modern technology. Although conversions from Camaros to Firebirds are common, this GTO swap is rather unusual and makes the convertible a real rarity. With only seven examples in the world ever built, this '6T9 GTO' replica is a rare jewel currently up for auction on Hagerty Marketplace.
Pontiac Judge Convertible
Designed and built by designer Kevin Morgan in Tallahassee, Florida, the vehicle impresses with its stunning looks. The body is painted in Onyx Tangerine Metallic Pearl and is strongly reminiscent of the legendary '69 Pontiac GTO "The Judge". The replica stands on 20-inch rally-style rims and a special highlight are the functional, hidden headlights, which can be rotated and come out from behind the grille. But the retro look doesn't end on the outside. The interior is outfitted with vintage touches, including '69-style ribbed bucket seats, a Hurst shifter, "Judge" script and vintage-look gauges. A numbered plaque also identifies the vehicle as one of only seven examples, along with the signature of Hurst President and Chairman Nate Sheldon.

The hood houses a supercharged 6,2-liter LS3 V8 with an impressive 568 hp. The powerhouse is coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission and transmits its power to the rear wheels. Other mechanical highlights include Eibach 1-inch lowering springs, Eibach anti-roll bars, powder-coated brake calipers, stainless steel tailpipes and a limited-slip differential. A stunning homage to the classic Pontiac GTO, the 6T9 GTO Cabriolet proves that vintage design and modern engineering can be an irresistible combination.
