Porsche 911 (993) Safari: Adventurous one-off for auction!

The world of rally cars isn't always about the latest models, and this Porsche 911 Safari is the perfect example. The Bring a Trailer marketplace recently listed the specially modified 993 Safari, which is far less expensive on the wallet than its brand new sibling, the Porsche 911 Dakar, which is only changing hands for a mere $223.450. The gem on offer is a converted 911 Porsche 1997 Carrera Coupé outfitted for a safari drive. Perfectly suited for adventurous sand dunes and gravel roads, the XNUMX presents itself as a significantly cheaper alternative for off-road fans.

The car, which comes with all the manufacturer's paperwork, a Carfax report and a clean California title, is sporting an olive green wrap. Underneath is the original ocean blue metallic factory paint finish, which has held up well to this day. The front of the vehicle features a new black bumper with an integrated skid plate that protects the lower components. The sturdy black 16-inch braided rims are fitted with 215/70 Yokohama Geolander A/T tires, which ensure that the vehicle remains stable on any terrain.

The suspension has been modified by BBI Autosport and includes a custom long travel JRZ coilover kit and new wishbones and wishbones. An air-cooled 3,6-liter boxer engine works under the hood, which is largely in its original condition with the exception of a new VarioRam intake system. The XNUMX's gearbox is a manual six-speed gearbox and it "only" has rear-wheel drive. Inside you'll find Recaro Pole Position seats upholstered in black leather with houndstooth inserts and emblazoned with the Porsche logo.
