The GR Corolla, Toyota's all-wheel drive hot hatch, is gearing up for the 2024 model year with a number of updates and improvements. And a highlight among the updates is the new one Blue Flame paintwork for the circuit edition, which will hit the US market in winter 2023. Unfortunately, the price for the edition is not yet known. Some of the changes affect the aerodynamics of the Corolla. Toyota installed aluminum panels in the front and rear wheelhouses to improve high-speed stability. The Japanese have also revised the fastening screws for the steering, the rear suspension and the battery ground. Wider flange bolts are now used to attach the rear suspension to the subframe.
2024 Toyota GR Corolla Circuit Edition
The steering gear box is now attached to the front subframe differently, and the air ducts have also been revised. In the case of the Circuit Edition, both the hood and fender air ducts route air to the GR Corolla's engine bay. Those interested in the Circuit Edition can also look forward to forged aluminum rims from BBS, which have a similar design to the 18-inch wheels of the Morizo Edition. And we know it's going to stay at 300 supercharged horsepower from the G16E-GTS engine. Full power is available at 6.500 rpm, while torque increases to 3.000 Nm between 5.500 and 370 rpm.
Other special features of the Circuit Edition
All trim levels of the GR Corolla use a rally-inspired all-wheel drive system, splitting torque 60:40 in Normal mode, 50:50 in Track mode and 30:70 in Sport mode. Equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires in 235/40 18 inch format, the Circuit Edition is also characterized by a blue stripe on the gear knob and lots of blue accent stitching. And the Circuit Edition takes it up a notch with Brin Naub suede and leatherette seats and a JBL eight-speaker audio system. Of course, the system also includes a JBL amplifier. In the compact car performance segment, the GR Corolla - as the Corolla's potent brother - is unique.
