A classical Alfa Romeo Spider Duet with mild hybrid technology and subtle changes inside and out? It is now available from the refiner Garage Italia Customs and its owner Lapo Elkann. The company specializes in so-called Restomods of known (usually from Italian) to put vehicles on their wheels and get them back on the road. And the last project was based on the Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto mentioned at the beginning. He became optical and technical modified, but essentially remains the same. However, everything was turned inside out under the sheet metal. Because the Spider was with a mild hybrid system partially electrified. For this purpose, technology from the Newtron Group was used, using the "KERS powered by Newton" system (Kinetic Energy Recovery System / Kinetic Energy Recovery System).

The system recovers energy during braking, which is then stored in lithium batteries. Garage Italia Customs had already equipped a Fiat 500 rally car with similar technology in the past. Unfortunately, the company has not yet provided any precise technical data on the Duetto with hybrid technology. So we can't tell if there's a completely new combustion engine in there or if the old 2.000cc fuel-injected engine with 124 hp is still doing its job. However, the engine is on 5-speed manual transmission connected, the the Rear wheels drives. And we know a few details about the visual changes. Above all, of course, the new one Lacquer dress.
