Limited Callum facelift: Aston Martin V12 Vanquish 2019

Have you ever heard of automotive designer Ian Callum? The 1954 in Dumfries (Scotland, Great Britain) born designer has already co-created the RS200 and Escort RS Cosworth for Ford and is currently responsible for Jaguar. But the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish that he designed at the end of the 90s is definitely unforgettable. And this is exactly what he is now daring to do again with his company "Callum Design Group" and removing some weaknesses his own design. The new design studio would like to refine 25 donor vehicles and bring them back to the road as Vanquish 25 with official Aston Martin approval. However, at a hefty price of £ 550.000. But you get one of the most beautiful Grand Turismo of all time. And theoretically it is even a so-called Restomod Project.

After all, the first vehicles come from the year 2001 and they come after the metamorphosis with the latest LED headlamps front and rear or a cutting-edge infotainment system back on the road. But not only that! The 25 limited edition series is being restored from scratch (at R-Reforged in England) and then receives a slightly modified front bumper with a typical Aston-Martin radiator grille, new air inlets on the right and left or elegant side window frames made of carbon. A modified apron with a sporty carbon diffuser that houses round tailpipes on both sides is installed at the rear. And even the maximum 528 PS & 577 NM strong engine (V12 Vanquish S) from back then you button up and increase the power by 60 to almost 590 PS. To do this, this is coupled to a modern six-speed automatic, thus making the unpopular electro-hydraulic 6-speed semi-automatic disappear. However, if you wish, it can stay. And so that the load can be adequately slowed down again, the coupe is given a carbon fiber / ceramic brake system from the Aston Martin shelf.

ultra-light forged wheels with Michelin tires

This sits behind shapely new 20 inch alloy wheels which are equipped with Michelin tires and cool white tire stickers. And finally, almost everything is new in the cab as well. There's a new carbon center console with the aforementioned high-end touchscreen system, and even a bespoke suitcase set by Mulberry's designs sits behind brand-new sports seats. We continue with the meter-by-meter leather from Bridge of Weir along with Callum's "abstract tartan" pattern and, as a highlight, the cabin sports a detachable Bremont watch. This does not coincidentally to the other instruments because even these have received a dial from the British watchmaker. If we receive timely information on other changes not mentioned before, there is of course as always an update for this report.
