BMW Classic has introduced a cool solution for classic vehicle lovers: the digital birth certificate. The document serves as a kind of proof of identity for historic BMWs and brings with it some innovations. In contrast to Certificate of authenticity, which was previously issued on paper, only contains the digital birth certificate technical data at the time of production of the car. These include the Chassis number, the Engine number, the Transmission number, the original Paintingwhich Production datewhich delivery date and Name of the first owner. The document also provides information about the parts installed ex works Optional extras, which will be of primary interest to collectors and restorers. The birth certificate is as digitally signed PDF before and you can for a fee of 125 EUR to be bought.

In order to order the certificate, however, there is a Proof of ownership as well as photos of the Chassis and engine number necessary. And it should be noted that the birth certificate exclusively in digital form is available and cannot be ordered in printed form. A printout of the PDF is possible, but it loses the official verification by the missing digital signature. Despite the high price of the document and the need to print it yourself, the digital birth certificate is a great innovation that ensures both the authenticity and history of classic BMWs in a modern way.
