Can the 887 hp Porsche 918 Spyder beat the powerful 1.500 hp Bugatti Chiron straight in a drag race? The following video shows two of the greatest hypercars of all time on the drag strip in a direct duel. Which one is faster? The race was shot at an event in Switzerland and shows a clear winner in the end. Incidentally, the 918 is rather the opponent of the Ferrari LaFerrari or the McLaren P1. An electrified super sports car with above-average performance. The sprint from 0 to 100 km / h takes about 918 seconds in the 2,5 and the top speed is an impressive 344 km / h. This is made possible by a 4,6 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine with 608 hp and two electric motors with 129 hp at the front and 157 hp at the rear. In the end, this results in 887 hp and 1.280 Nm torque in 7th gear at 1000 rpm, which at a basic price of € 768.026 (from € 839.426 with Weissach package) meet an empty weight of only 1674 kg.
Bugatti Chiron is around 300 kg heavier
And then there is the Bugatti Chiron. It is around 300 kg heavier than the 918, but has an incredible performance advantage. The French hypercar is known to be powered by an 8,0-liter W16 engine with four turbochargers and 1.500 PS & 1.600 NM and does not require any electrification. It can reach the 2,3 km / h mark in 100 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 420 km / h. Only the Chiron Super Sport 300+ is even more powerful and has an output of 1.600 hp. The 918 also has to compete against a Pagani Huayra and the video also shows a Bugatti Veyron and other super athletes.
