Do you know which roadster is the best-selling, with a good 1.000.000 units sold between February 1989 and April 2016? No BMW, no Mercedes and no VW! It's the Mazda MX5 ... And since September 7, 2014, the little MX5 is already in the fourth generation on the road and listens to the internal ID ND5 (starting from the ND platform). With 131PS in the 1.5 Skyactiv G-131 or 160PS in the 2.0 Skyactiv G-160 (iELOOP), the small roadster is quite well motorized thanks to its curb weight of only 975kg / 1015kg. After all, it goes to 7,3 km / h in 100 seconds and only ends at 214 km / h (2.0 Skyactiv G-160). Only the standard look seems somehow damn good.

Just over a year after the presentation, the Japanese tuner Kuhl Racing showed us one first virtual graph and a few pictures of the creation of an extensive body kit for the small MX-5. A few months later it was official and Kuhl Racing presented the MX-5 with an all-round body kit that consisted of a front bumper, side skirts, rear apron with integrated diffuser and a gooseneck GT wing. Other changes such as the "Slash 2" sports exhaust system with 2 x 100mm tailpipes, large aluminum rims and a significant lowering rounded off the project quite noticeably.
And now the tuner has got down to work and has developed another body kit for the MX-5. Visually, the add-on parts consist of a front splitter for the standard bumper, discreet side skirts, an eye-catching diffuser that can be installed on the standard rear bumper, as well as the well-known rear wing in gooseneck design.
This time, too, the roadster got the familiar 19-inch wheelset and the extreme lowering. In addition, there was a chic dark red chrome / gloss foiling for the bonnet. The Kuhl Racing team released the MX-5 tonight and we are of course pleased to be able to show you the first pictures of it, even though the summer came to an abrupt end for us today. It doesn't matter, if necessary the roof will be approved. After the not quite so extensive tuning cure that the MX-5 was allowed to endure this time, it is also visually significantly changed, more individual and more dynamic than the production version. But this version is also quite thick, as I think, typical of Japan. If you look at the rear with the central sports exhaust system, you might think that there is a good 450PS to attack, but unfortunately that is not the case.
If you have been secretly thinking of buying the current MX-5 for a long time, or if you are already a happy owner, Kuhl Racing is definitely an interesting starting point when it comes to differentiating the vehicle from the production model. And for all those who are not necessarily located in the vicinity of the tuner, the vehicle may serve as a tuning template for the tuning partner on site.
