Fire & flame! 1985 Chevy Pickup as Project Red Rocker!

Currently there is on the auction platform of Mecum Auctions Almost every day at least one Restomod vehicle that is to be auctioned in the next few days. And today this 1985 Chevrolet pickup is known to us as a so-called "Project Red Rockers“Noticed. A vehicle with a design that was very popular not so long ago. You weren't really cool if your paintwork didn't have red-yellow, flowing, flames. Preferably from front to back. Countless vehicles had flames on their bodies back then, but currently this trend has (luckily) disappeared. The 1985 Chevy Silverado is expected to bring in about $ 50.000 and maybe you should budget about $ 2.000-3000 for a new paint job on the sides. We think the rest can stay red.

As already mentioned, the pickup is known in custom car circles as the "Project Red Rocker" and was developed for the Truckin Magazine built and exhibited at the then SEMA Auto Show. The pickup is part of similar vehicles from the Hill's Hot Rods Square Body Truck Collection come. All of them will be put under the hammer by Mecum in Dallas, Texas in the coming weeks. And just like the others in the group, the Chevy is also equipped with an LS-V8 engine and has a 4L60 transmission. But this time too, the key data of the V8 are not really known. But we know that an Airride air suspension is installed and that the chrome-plated wheelset are so-called Bonspeed billet rims in the 20 and 22 inch format. A sports brake system from "Baer" is hidden behind the wheel set and, as always, the body has been completely restored and rebuilt.

In the course of the painting work, unnecessary details such as the decorative strips or the door handles including the tailgate handle were removed and the interior was also comprehensively planned. Worth mentioning here is a brown leather interior and countless details in body color. And as eye-catchers there are chic round instruments in the dashboard and the round instruments in the center console are particularly cool. A new spoke leather steering wheel and a stately sound system with a subwoofer between the seats and other more or less visible speakers are also installed. Here, too, there are many small details such as the new pedals, the chrome-plated handles for the vent windows or the completely covered roof lining that make this unique item so desirable. If we get more information about the changes to the Chevy pickup, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
