Corvette C1 optics on the C5 from Advanced Automotive

Anyone interested in a Corvette C5 with the look of the C1 should check out the platform in the next few days mecum.com keep an eye. There is one built by 200 1953 Commemorative Corvette C1 from Tuner Advanced Automotive Technologies (ATT) to bid. And this example is even one of only 6 built examples based on the Z06 C5. The largest Corvette ever built should get the look of the small C1! What should have gone wrong in any case seems quite successful here. While the technology and the interior have been completely preserved, the optics have changed completely. There are new front and rear aprons, new fenders, side panels, a redesigned rear and even a different roof.

below also as a combined version

Many parts such as the trunk lid or the bonnet are made of light GRP and were mostly screwed to the original attachment points. Only the doors seem to be the original parts of the C5. And what looks like metal is actually metal. Because both the handmade radiator grille and the bumpers have chrome-plated metal applications and the same applies to the frames of the new main headlights or the taillights. Everything was meticulously handcrafted and harmonises perfectly with the paintwork in Torch Red (red). Even the standard 17 & 18 inch alloy wheels of the C5 are the C1 replica.

The original chrome wheels from the C5 are installed here

A look through the spokes reveals the known brake system with ventilated letters and multi-piston calipers (painted red and with Corvette logos) the C5, which still provides adequate deceleration. They are fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires in 265/40 and 295/35 format and make contact with the road. Under the hood is the well-known LS6 Generation III-V8 engine from GM, which received a performance upgrade from Lingenfelter in this vehicle. And that's not surprising, since the previous owner was none other than John Lingenfelter.

more power can't hurt ...

The vehicle is in absolute top condition inside and out and has only done 9400 miles (approx. 15.128 km) to date. Of which probably not a mile in bad weather. If we receive timely information on other changes not mentioned before or the specific auction number, there will of course be an update for this report, as always.
