Of course, there were also many off-road campers to be seen at SEMA 2022. Whether pickup, SUV or van, there was something for every taste. And if you absolutely had an XXL version in mind, you could visit the stand of EarthRoamer look around The Colorado company has been building special "overland vehicles" on medium-heavy chassis since 1998, and the new SX model was one of the things on display in Las Vegas. This is an improved version of the LTi (see end of post), which this time is not based on an F-550, but is based on a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 5500, with a 6,6-liter Duramax diesel engine and 350 hp & 950 Nm torque. The chassis received a carbon living attachment with practical furniture and space for six sleeping places.

It comes with a 120-gallon fresh water tank and a 55-gallon gray water tank, and a 1.600-watt solar array sits on the roof. It supplies the 18.000 Wh lithium-ion battery, which can alternatively be charged from the socket with up to 30 amps. The alternator from the engine also charges the battery. In this way, countless devices can be operated via the integrated inverter/charger. The dining area also seats up to six people and converts to a California king-size bed or a maximum of four bunk beds after dinner. The small bathroom houses a rainfall shower and a cassette toilet with two five-gallon cassettes.

Finishing materials include maple cabinets, cedar cabinets, leather seats, granite countertops, a stainless steel sink and a memory foam mattress. Even a washing machine and dryer are optionally available. It doesn't come with any propane bottles or power generators, because the SX's two fuel tanks with 100 gallons of diesel fuel allow it to travel about 1.000 miles (approx. 1.609 km) depending on the terrain and thus to be self-sufficient. And since EarthRoamer has redesigned the chassis, it can even reach a top speed of 81 miles per hour (approx. 130 km/h).

over $1 million expensive if desired…

Of course, the vehicle also has the factory Chevrolet all-wheel drive installed. But that's on the 43-inch (1,09 m) Mil-Spec Goodyear tires Beadlock wheels are not intended for the highway, of course, that goes without saying. Incidentally, the prices only start at an insane 995.000 US dollars and a maximum of around 1,1 million US dollars is feasible.
