It was already 4 years ago on August 20, 2013 Ferrari announced in the run-up to the International Motor Show in Frankfurt with a short press release that the Ferrari 3 Speciale would be presented in 12 weeks (on September 458). The basis was the 458 Italia, but the Speciale is characterized by an even sportier equipment. There were also a few differences on the outside and so the front and rear aprons were changed, small air deflectors are installed on the flanks in front of the rear wheel cutouts, etc. Inside has been much reduced and so the interior has no carpets, but a lot of carbon material and Alcantara. One wanted to optimize the weight and so in the end the curb weight sank to 1405 kg, at the same time the engine output (with identical displacement of 4,5 l) was increased to a brilliant 445 kW (605 PS). The liter output results in 99 kW / l which is already clear. The result was that the lap time on the in-house test track in Fiorano could be reduced to 1: 23.5 minutes. A highlight in the Special is the world's first drift angle control that made it into a series vehicle. The whole thing is controlled by the Side Slip Angle Control System (SSC), which recognizes by evaluating the steering angle, drift angle, accelerator pedal position and other factors, whether the driver wants to oversteer at the corner exit or not.

The system then regulates the driving status despite activated ESP. Exclusive features for a really exclusive vehicle! But the team from RACE presented a few hours ago that it can be even more exclusive! SOUTH AFRICA. You have equipped a 458 Speciale with a Novitec carbon aerodynamic kit that highlights the sporty features of the body again. The components include a subtle front splitter on the front bumper, an air inlet for the bonnet, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a fixed rear spoiler. In addition, there was a film in the form of two black stripes over the vehicle and the paint was completely provided with an XPEL Paint Protection (stone chip protection) film. RACE! SOUTH AFRICA manages to make the exclusive Speciale even more exclusive. Of course, if we get more information about the modifications to the 458, there is, as always, an update for this report.
