The latest novelty among Lamborghini models is the Huracán STO (Super Trofeo Omologata): a super sports car approved for road use, the three-time winner of the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO, a racing car specially developed for the single-brand championship of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, and the Huracán GT3 EVO the 24 Hours of Daytona and two-time winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring, is inspired.

Thanks to its naturally aspirated V10 engine with 640 CV (470 kW) and 565 Nm at 6500 rpm, the Huracán STO with rear-wheel drive impresses with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 3,0 seconds, from 0 to 200 km / h in 9,0 seconds and a top speed of 310 km / h. All the emotions of a racing car can be felt in its heartbeat. Superior aerodynamic efficiency, extensive use of lightweight materials, maneuverability and outstanding braking performance ensure that every road feels like a race track with the Huracán STO.
Behind the innovative technical solutions that have made these incredible achievements possible, hitherto undiscovered or little-known details and record achievements are hidden. Here are 5 facts you didn't know before:
1. COFANGO, a development from Lamborghini
The term cofango is made up of two Italian words, "cofano" for bonnet and "parafango" for fender. Automobili Lamborghini came up with this name for a component in which the bonnet, fenders and front bumper are integrated. This innovative system, developed by the engineers from the company with the bull in its coat of arms, is inspired by the Lamborghini Miura and the younger Sesto Elemento. The STO is made entirely of carbon and is therefore extremely light. Even the key that opens the STO's cofango is unique: it was developed in-house by the R&D team and manufactured using the innovative 3D printing process.
2. Dynamic pit stop in just 3 seconds
Three new driving modes perfectly express the sporty character of the Huracán STO. The setup can be changed and adapted to high-performance driving situations in just 3 seconds: STO, Trofeo and Pioggia. The Huracán STO offers you the experience of a real, dynamic pit stop, as if a team of mechanics were completely at your disposal! And what can you do in less than 3 seconds?
3. Three circumnavigations of the world on the test simulator
For the development, validation and the various test phases of the STO, the R&D team covered a distance on the simulator that corresponds to three circumnavigations of the world before starting the test drives on the road. The state-of-the-art simulator technology saved the Lamborghini engineers a great deal of time in quality and emissions control and in checking the conformity of each individual vehicle part with standards. This also benefits the delivery times.
4. There are 2750 components in an STO
“Would you like to build a 1: 1 Huracán STO?” This requires a lot of patience, because building the latest model from the brand with the bull requires more than 2750 components.
5. Networked telemetry with 25 lines of codes
The Huracán STO introduces an advanced connected telemetry system, in which the connection between the vehicle - the on-board cameras from Lamborghini Connected Cloud - and the Lamborghini UNICA app enables, thanks to an intuitive data analysis system and videos enriched with special widgets, to transform the exclusive app dedicated to Lamborghini customers into a real track engineer. Developing this technology for the Lamborghini UNICA app required more than 25.000 lines of code.
