Did you know that the tuner HGP Turbonachrüstung GmbH Even the strictly limited VW New Beetle RSi 3.2 V6 special model (type 9C) has helped to significantly more power? As far as we know the exact 3 x happened and one of these vehicles was recently released by the Wolfgang & Fabian Schmuck GbR from Flohnheim for a price of € 55.000. But what is the difference compared to the “normal” New Beetle? The "RSi" (Racing Sport injection) has installed a 3,2-l-VR6 engine with four-valve technology that provides torque in the factory settings 165 kW (224 PS) and 320 NM. He was limited to 250 units and visually heavily based on the VW New Beetle Cup. The RSi is stately 86 mm wider, 19 mm longer and you have the track to 45 mm front and 59 mm behind compared to the normal Beetle enlarged. There were 18-inch wheels, a huge wing at the rear and unfortunately also an exorbitant price of 135.930 Mark.

But the technology was worth it! After all, they have coupled the VR6 engine with a Haldex all-wheel and 6-speed manual gearbox and thus the RSi flew in 6,7 seconds from zero to 100 km / h. Inside there was a dash panel insert with two large round instruments and it is even a shift point display installed to represent important speed ranges. And where the sound system is located in the normal New Beetle, the RSi has additional instruments for oil pressure, oil temperature and a voltmeter. The typical racing car is started by means of a button in the center console next to the handbrake lever. The CD audio system has been banished to the headliner and small details such as the door panels made of carbon, the aluminum window crank or the dreamlike leather-related carbon fiber bucket seats made for a lot of racing feeling. Only under the hood could have been more going on, at least if it goes to the tuner HGP. In this special RSi Beetle (Vehicle number 96 of 250) but in any case performance is available in excess.

from the outside, no difference is visible

The turbo experts gave the 3,2-liter six-cylinder a performance boost by converting the turbo to a crazy 460 hp, which also explains the larger front and rear brake systems. In addition, a lowering with a "Clubsport 3" coilover kit from KW and only the black painted bonnet is a visual one visible Modification. Audible is the difference compared to the series but in any case. The RSI has installed a special sports exhaust system. Of course countless other components such as a new intake, a revised cooling and of course a chip tuning software that combines everything. If we receive timely information on further changes to the RSi, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if yours is just ours Feed subscribe to.
